I read that the ABA was putting yet another team in Indy for the '05 season. To their credit, I noticed that Joe Newman was not (supposedly) part of the new ownership team. But the way the Legends burned so many bridges - Butler Univ., Pepsi Coliseum, staff (of which I was one), vendors, etc. - I find it hard to believe the league would still have any credibility to trade upon. When they finally folded the last time they were having trouble drawing 200 people to a high school gym. Maybe they'll try an elementary school next time!

The name is Alley Cats. Maybe that is a clue to where they will play.

Well, at least it isn't the "Alley Dawgs."

Says Joe in today's Indianapolis Star: (http://www.indystar.com/articles/0/220651-7810-036.html)

"The league is really growing because we figured out how to do it."

Newman said he is confident league fortunes have reversed. Each new owner will pay a $20,000 market reservation fee.

Still not nearly enough.

Didn't it used to be $10,000?

Joe looking to cut and run? How far can you run when you're his age?

Very early prediction:

There will be no ABA Indianapolis team--period!

There will be no ABA Indianapolis team - period!

That, I think, would be an act of mercy toward the good people of Indianapolis.

My guess is Joe had money on New England and gave away the points!
