View Full Version : The Legal Battle Has Begun...

IFL attorneys have sent a Cease-And-Desist letter to LA Swashbucklers owner Thom Hager today.

Hager has several attorneys as sponsors and will handle the legal free-for-all pro bono out of principle.

Isn't it ironic, my friends, that Carolyn Shiver used to resort to cease-and-desists back in the NIFL days when the Intense and UIF broke off, and now the IFL is using legalities for an upstart new league.

The circle continues. I sigh in sadness.

Who will comprise the SIFL (Southern Indoor Football League) besides the Louisiana Swashbucklers? What will their web address be and when will they play? As far as the IFL, any further news as to when the IFL Website will be launched? I am certain that any of us bloggers can do a better job for less. At least it would be up and current. All replies welcome. Thanks.

P.S. I would bet that the SIFL might consist of the following franchises:

1. Louisiana Swashbucklers
2. Mississippi Mudcats (Tupelo)
3. Texas Copperheads (Katy...wishful thinking, but is there any news on TX?)
4. Beaumont Drillers (reincarnated version)
5. Kansas Koyotes (APFL)
6. Iowa Blackhawks (APFL)

Operations have been suspended. There is talk of coming back in 2010 but I'm not optimistic right now. The team was almost sold in August...which means they would have come back for '09. That deal fell apart for unknown reasons. If the Copperheads do return, I doubt they will do so with DMC ownership.

If you ever visited the IFF message board you would see that Hawkeye has stated over and over ...
"The Blackhawks and the Koyotes are not going anywhere"

Anyone trying to get Beaumont going again would have a major up hill battle after the past 2 seasons.

The Mudcats are dormant. Owner can't afford it.

Funny you should post that. I got a voter registration card with my address on it, but the person couldn't have lived here. The only two registered voters ever in my address were myself and my wife. It was registered three weeks ago.

Gee, GUESS the political registration. Looks like I'm protesting it tomorrow....

Not that this or the previous post has anything to do with this thread and all...

...it's a shame that folks can't work these league issues out quietly. I just don't see any teams joining the SIFL or whatever the hell it is.

Hell, www.thesifl.com nor www.siflfootball.com has even been registered yet.

Should I? I feel evil enough....

To damage the engine with a wrench, there first has to be an engine to begin with...
