I guess you cant blame any owners for not wanting to lose money. You just hope in the process that the fans dont get burned. They are gonna have to move fast if they are going to start a new league this late. I dont see this going well for the Bucs. Maybe it would have been best to stay put this year and check out their options throughout it.

I'm shocked, shocked, I tell you.

Not really. This is, after all, indoor football. Nothing every goes well, or is what it seems.

I agree. At this late a date I think it would've been better to stay for one year and then try a new league with plenty of time to put it together. We'll see how it works out for them. I wish them good luck as I don't like to see good teams die.

They are having to sign a non compete clause.. to play in the IFL.... so if they tried it one year and left, they would have to go dark for a year before coming back...

The most humorous thing about this Louisiana situation, is where Thom Hager came up with those ridiculous numbers. There is no way that his travel budget would have increased that much, if any. The schedule hasn't even been released yet. And when it is, with exception of the playoffs, he would have been playing the same regional group of teams that he's been playing all along. And on the other boards I didn't even mention the fact that he won't have the added expense of an Alaska trip.

The real issue is that the league is growing. Every team owner has equal ownership and an equal vote in the league. And all of a sudding Hager becomes a small fish in a big pond. This is an ego thing for Hager. Under this new IFL structure, suddenly Hager isn't as "significant" (for lack of a better word) in a 20+ team league as he was previously in a 9 team league.

Furthermore, Hager wants to reduce the schedule to 10-12 games and pay his players $100 per game, or less if he can get away with it. Mark my words, the SIFL is going to be the next APFL or IIFA. And Thom Hager becomes the next Ralph Adams.

Just my two cents.

Well, this will keep me entertained until "The Shield" comes on next Tuesday at 10 PM EST/9 CST on FX ...

Just off the top of my head, his travel would have increased due to the fact Katy moved to Abilene closer to Odessa, and then you add El Paso, a 13 hour trip by bus if you are lucky. So the closest trip would be the 6 hours to Corpus.

Now if you play a home and away with each remain team in our region, that is 12 games, so unless they are going to play 1 team in your division more then twice, you are looking at going outside the division... and where would that be.. sioux city, billings, Rochester? All seem to be an added cost to what the travel budget for the Swashbucklers was last season.

It's too bad the Conroe Storm and the Beaumont Drillers are not still around. They would be a perfect fit in the SIFL. Does the SIFL have a website?

Hmm, an IFL owner spreading false information and making personal attacks on a message board.

The sports is progressing my friends, indeed it is.

No doubt there will be strongly worded memos from the home office in Richmond, Va. regarding the conduct.

I invite you to do the same, my friend.

This POS pacemaker goes off and my eyes turn green when and if I ever get mad.

Life is meant to celebrated, after all.

But instead, the sport will continue its tragic cycle. How much more longer until the lawyers are called in to issue petty restraining orders?

If that's the case then look for the x-CIFL holier-than-thou bigwigs from Rochester and Lehigh Valley to be the next to bow out. I'm guessing when all the smoke clears the UIFIFL will be no better off than eight teams or so - something we could have had anyway without all the hoopla of a merger. That's not growth, that's stagnation. Some premier league you got there. Bwahahahaha.

Just my tooth sense.

Something to sink out tooths in because the message boards will be relatively quiet.

1) If past experience serves me well, the lawyers will probably be working by the end of the day coming up with cease and desist motions against each other. Happened in NIFL and the old AIFL

2) There will be at least one good shouting match over the phone today.

3) Sides will be chosen.

4) Ft. Sumter will be shelled.

No, which means it already looks better than what the IFL has taken two months to put together.

Well, don't be too proud of a working league web site with only one team in the league. The IGFL had the same thing and I don't see any IGFL indoor football being played. I am just saying.

I hope all leagues and all the teams make a go of it. I just love indoor football and want to see it get better. I was hoping for the IGFL, and glad to see the UIF and the Intense League do well. I will cheer for the SIFL and the IFL as well as the AIFA and the CIFL.

PS - I was glad to see the NIFL die, it was only hurting the sport in the end. BTW - I have notice for a while that the NIFL site seems to be down, hopefully for good
