They allow obscene and profane materials on this board? :)
I was at the game, the way Wichita played was slightly indecent. (OK, they're a young team, but they have a big learning curve ahead, like 0 for 9 on power play, including a couple of 5-on-3 chances.

Every club is its own organization, to win or lose. While I prefer a league with nearly equal talent across the board, unfortunately, this isn't so. I prefer close games to blow outs, especially one goal difference games.
Some clubs have better organizations, better coaches, and better players. Its the same in the major leagues as well. No one can guarantee a championship season, either in the majors or the minors.
This isn't FIFA soccer, or the British Premier League, where clubs buy winning seasons. There is no amateur draft, and no salary caps to even the league. They don't even split their league television revenues equally. The higher ratings a club recieve, the higher the revenues. That is why the same four clubs out of 20 lead the league each year and why Manchester United has won several championships in the last decade. Not even the gate receipts are similar, Man U's stadium seats 78k seats, and Wignan Athletic seats 28k. Before Man U had its run of championships, Liverpool FC had a run of several championships over a decade too. Tottenheim is lucky to have won a championship during 1980, their only championship in over 100 years.
The Liverpool fans are upset with George Gillett, owner of the Montreal Canadiens, and Tom Hicks, owner of the Dallas Stars, for buying their club via a loan, placing their club in debt to the tune of $450 million. Any cent servicing a loan means that much cannot be spent on buying players. On top of this the club needs to move into a larger stadium, their 45k seat 100+ year old stadium won't compete with Man U's 78k. The fans want a new stadium too, but they want Gillett and Hicks to pay cash for the new stadium, much less pay cash for the club. A new stadium, planned to seat 71k, will be built to 60k, because there isn't enough transit to build larger. The stadium's been delayed by the credit crunch, but that doesn't smooth the situation for the fans. One cannot finance a new stadium at $600+ million when the banks won't loan that much. Of course, none of this matters, as a new larger stadium will provide the revenues to pay off both loans easily. They want a sugar daddy to spend over $1 billion of their own money to please them. No debt is welcomed!
FIFA and the Premier League need a salary cap badly. Not many rich people have $800 million of cash burning a hole in their pockets. All but a few million is invested. Only rich Arab oil shrieks may have that much liquidity.
