View Full Version : Will there be better pay in this league??
I hear this is the new "Super" league.
I really hope the pay for players is much more than the measly $200/game in all the other leagues below the AFL.
Talent puts arses in seats and good pay brings talent. :)
$1000/game and $2000/game (for a win) sounds reasonable to me.
If your with me say Aye ! :D:D

Um. No. $200 hasn't stopped teams from getting a good level of talent, but it has stopped teams from being solvent before. I don't mind the win bonus, but $200 should probably be where it stays.

Ya really. A lot of these teams can barely make
the $200 payroll, in fact many don't.
By raising the min. pay/game all you'll do is
increase the number of deadbeat teams that
default on their player salaries each week.

Exactly, bruiser. Besides, Saginaw (and Port Huron before it) fielded a pretty good team without paying anything!

I love the idea of the new league. This is the first I have spoke of it. I really hope it takes off. My phone goes crazy with guys who want to play close to home! I think this could be really great for some guys on hard times, strapping to their careers but also wanting to live out a dream and give themselves opportunities. (As we all know)
Heads up though...I know that there is enough talent to go around but rumor has it the AF2 is going to drop dues enough to pay players more per game! This could definately put more money in the pockets at tryouts for the AF2 and potentially get better athletes!
Maybe before this thing gets going the IFL should think about paying just a little bit more of a livable wage? For what it's worth, What could it hurt at this point, if these players rally for insurances and Injury claim files...shoot even start a union, this could get difficult...All it takes is one accident to put the league up against a revolt / Lawmakers / Police...I am sure all the minds involved have thought of that already... but it should be a real concern! The NIFL couldnt handle large amounts of teams because of CS's Greed (just for starters)...Hope this is different! I love the start of something new, everyones on board, excited and positive...ready to see year three already, hope everyone involved puts the work in!
Good luck to the IFL, I will definately reccommend players to your new league!

Isn't that competitive with this level, though?

IMO, I don't think so.
This league is touting itself as better than the CIFL, AIFA, etc. Those leagues pay $200/game.
So it's reasonable IMO for this league to pay more if it is "a step up" or "better".

$200.00 a game & $ 50.00 win bonus,,,thay are going to target the af2 players also with this scale.
There are the exceptions,,,,,Tulsa, Rio Grand, WB and 1 or 2 others that GIVE a little more
