Heard from a couple of different sources that Everett, Washington has been granted an IFL franchise, though it is undetermined if they will begin play in 2009 or 2010. Another Washington franchise is also all but approved.

I guess Everett's teams name will be the Destroyers and there will be a team in Kent, Washington in 2010

As for Everett. We well start in 2010. The name is Snohomish County Stealth. Yes it looks like Kent.

Not sure where you got your info. But Everett will kickoff in 2009 as the Destroyers in the new Comcast Arena. Kent will follow in 2010 as the Defenders.

Sure, that market hasn't been nuked enough yet....
I'm not sure going after the af2 like this is a wise idea.

The AF2 has proven totally incapable of killing any of the indoor leagues, so I don't think "going after them" is going to result in anything bad.

Probably just work to kill more markets. Which is bad for the fans.

...and who will they be playing?
...and what will the price of fuel and flights be in 6 months? (Hint: Supply reduction.)
Jokes should be funny. This isn't that.

Do you all realize that these two teams have been awarded to Mike Tuckman? The guy is more cancerous than filterless cigarettes.

No, I didn't know this. Who is he? Any proof anywhere?

I will try to find some links later in the day when I have more time. In the meantime, run a search for him. He is currently in debt for nearly $100,000 in Great Falls, MT where he took over a CBA basketball team and summarily ran it into the ground while making empty promises and paying literally no one. He passes blame and lies on a regular basis and somehow keeps getting opportunities. He has folded at least one other indoor football team and at least three basketball teams. I believe that in the CBA basketball thread there is a copy of an email he sent to nearly all of the team's sponsors which is laced with profanity and blame to former players, coaches, and staff that ran a successful team before he came in.
It is a blazing red flag on the stability of the IFL to see that they awarded two teams to this clown.

Wasn't Tuckman the guy named as the new owner
of Sam Adams Everett team just before it folded?

Yep...
His story is that Sam Adams is a huge crook and that he was screwed. True story is that he never spent a cent in the agreement as he promised which caused the team, that was looking for assistance, to fold.

Yes, Tuckman is a serious FAIL.
Is EEC / whatever sponsor has the name on the Everett arena really going to work with him?

Its a blazing red flag to see some of the other teams the IFL has awarded franchises to. There will be about 10 teams that dont finish the season

Why didn't the IFL just simply play a season as a merged
league before attempting to become a "national" league?
I was thrilled with the merger news, but the expansion
news has sent "NIFL" shivers down my spine . . .
