If the AISL actually still exists, that probably makes three leagues with no more than 5 teams each. That's not crowded, that's called heightening petty differences to prove a point that won't be proven. I doubt the AISL continues to exist, and I doubt the long-term viability of at least one of the post-fractured-MISL leagues... perhaps both.

Not that the PASL is any great shakes.

AISL = Semi-pro quality
XSL & NISL = Professional quality
PASL-Pro = Mixed bag

Sounds about right. But regardless of quality and set up, the indoor soccer leagues are hurt by the fragmentation. I can only guess than the NISL is about individual team ownership and XSL is about single-entity ownership with individual team mgmt. Anyone have the scoop? Fran? Anyone?

In 2-3 years (maybe less), we'll likely see the strongest teams eventually merge to form a new national indoor league.
