Not to dampen your enthusiasm, Skyhawker, but les Capitales have won 2 of their 3 playoffs games with NADA runs allowed!
In the first game, the SkyHawks will face the best pitcher in the league, Michel Simard. Since you're gonna be at the game, you're in for a treat. Look for a lot of goose eggs on the second line of the scoreboard.
When the team travels to Quebec, they will face the best pitcher in the playoffs, Orlando Trias. He's lights out. That's the guy who pitched a no-hitter recently. In the first game against A-C, scoreless after 10, he came in relief and, with the bases loaded and no out, he simply stuck out the next 3 batters... and 2 in the next inning to get the win. In the last game, he gave up 2 hits in 7 innings!
In the 4 games against Worcester, only 3 hitters did the job for the SkyHawks, Valera (.455), Perodin (.353) and Yaconetti (.300). They have the 1, 8 and 9 slots of the batting order.
Take a look at the playoffs stats of the 2 to 6 holes of les Capitales batting order:
Tomlinson: .313
Deschenes: .316
Lantigua: .278 (.409 OBP)
Scalabrini: .313
Nunez: .526
The team drew 27 walks in 4 games compared to 11 for the SkyHawks!
One more thing, les Capitales stole 12 of 13 bases... but it was against William Plaza. Valera has better be ready.
One last thing. They're gonna be about 500 fans per game in the stands in Sussex... 3,500 in Quebec. Think it could make a difference?
Still think the SkyHawks have more momentum?
But it's gonna be a great matchup! Great games to watch!

I believe the two best teams are in the championship. Quebec has been a great, consistent team all season while the Skyhawks have had a tale of two very different seasons. Right now the skyhawks can and will defeat teams with better records - just ask Worcester.
As for playing in front of 3500 opposing fans - the players are in a zone and don't pay any attention to the crowds. They have won quite a few games in the visitor's ballpark that have been nearly sellouts. In Quebec, they took 3 of 4 in one of the seasons series.
Go Skyhawks!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The Skyhawks have the momentum going into this series. Throw the season stats out the window. It a whole new season with the Skyhawks coming out on top.

Quebec was playing the 4th place team, who was really struggling to close out the season. After the rain out, I am definetly going tomorow, maybe if im lucky thursday. FIRST GAME its Ruwe vs. Simard, unlike Worcester, Quebec has 3 immediate ace starters (Simard, Valdez, Trias). Worcester has only 1 ace (Cochran). So that will be a tough chalenge, but the Skyhawks have great counters for those 3, Ruwe can stick in the late innings with Simard if he needs to, Knoff can, and i think will, hold Quebecs big bats, and Galvez can keep the Skyhawks in the game at all times, and is a combination of both a late inning pitcher and someone who can hold the big bats. If Weston or Moreno step up, and start driving in more runs in crucial situations, the 'Hawks will win the sieries.

SkyHawks96, you're making some very interesting points.
A-C added pitching (starter and set-up man) and an outfielder at the trade deadline and they finished barely 1 game behing you guys (both in the 2nd half and full season). They were no pushover. They had better starters that you have.
They hit .234 against the best pitching staff in the league while you guys were hitting .233 against Worcester.
You won't have to face Valdez because he's out with an hyper-extended elbow. (Bumped his arm on his left knee following up on a pitch in A-C)
Don't be surprised if Hal Lanier starts Lincoln and Snipp. Re: the're both lefties and les Capitales have not hit lefties well this year.
"If Weston or Moreno step up , and start driving in more runs in crucial situations" What makes you think they will step up against better pitching? I guess you are hoping... but don't hold your breath!
Les Capitales will start, in order:
Michel Simard
T.J. Stanton
Karl Gelinas
Orlando Trias
Note: Karl Ruwe gave up 20 walks in 129 innings this year, 8 of which were against les Capitales ... in only 20 innings. This is a very patient team at the plate you will be facing. Their receipe is simple: get deep in the counts, get the opposing starter early to his 100 pitch count and pounce on a tiring starter and on the relievers. They score a lot of runs in the 6th, 7th and 8th innings. The SkyHawks' weak link should become obvious (the pitching)
The team with the best defence should win it!

One down and two to go. Great job Skyhawks!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
What an exciting and entertaining game. As I stated before, take the season's stat and throw them out the window. Anything can happen in the post season - even dreams can come true!!!!
