Looks like JOJO owes the old web site company around $ 10,000. And the new company wants some up front cash...
Shamefull Joe....
Ita amazing how you care very little for your fellow man...just want to fleece anyone you can?

I think Q also has set up www.abaisback.com as well. Right now it goes to the Atlanta Vision website.
I'm surprised they let the bill rack up to 10k though. Maybe Joe could have traded a franchise to the old company for payment. I do know that once you stop paying they keep the content, unless you pay them in full you'll never get the content back. Not that there were any stats, scores or standings on the old site however.

Or news...
There were months missing from the archives, including all of the releases during the time the "new" ABA site was up. Also, in one of Joe's "I'll show you" moods - after the 04-05 season, he removed most references to the host of teams that did not return; which included the champion RimRockers (and yes, my SkyCats). Joe's "logic" was that he did want to continue to give those teams any publicity (there is an email from the old Yahoo board).
Of course, just because you remove something from YOUR site on the web doesn't mean it's gone; sites like OSC are invaluable for their news archives to help keep the records straight.

Even if Joe Newman decides to go "1984" and rewrite and delete any historical archive, he probably forgot about the existence of the Archive Project, at www.archive.org. So I punched in abalive.com... and look what I found.
http://web.archive.org/web/*/www.abalive.com
Just a random click here -
http://web.archive.org/web/20040625203549/http://www.abalive.com/index.html
And I found that in 2004, the ABA was boasting of 25 teams and growing. They announced teams like the "Island Empire" and "Philadelphia Squires," and Joe Newman was talking about expansion into new markets.
See, I don't have to call someone under an assumed name to dig up dirt. When it's right there on archive.org for the sifting...

Chuck, no more revisionist history from Ole Joe.
Cheers, jack.
