Just heard, Rox manager Chris Miyake has been fired. He was Brockton's manager the last three seasons after taking over for Ed Nottle.

Speaking of Ed Nottle, he was seen in Brockton during Ottawa's last visit there August 25-28 (can't remember which of these games). Could he come back to manage the Rox again?

Also heard today, Ottawa's Tom Carcione will not be asked to manage the Rapidz for 2009. Carcione is a good friend of Nottle's and was his coach before Nottle was fired by Ottawa and Carcione took over. Will Miyake end up in Ottawa?

Yes, just saw on Rapidz web site (wow - thats unusual - its up to date on this at least) that Carione was named Mgr. for next year. Also saw it on TV's A Channel supper time news.

Hope they follow up and announce at least 2 coaches before the start of next year.

Carcione probably deserved the job & I think it is a good move on the surface.

Does the A Channel mention the Rapidz much? I watch CTV. Missed it Friday night but I assume they mentioned Carcione staying on.

The web site was surprisingly fast in reporting it too. About the only one that didn't get it right is Jacques Doucet - twice - reporting Carcione was NOT coming back. He's the first I heard of going ons with the Rapidz and other Can-Am news. Guess I should wait for second-hand confirmation before starting a thread.
