So does that mean that St. George will be a North team for next year? The travel costs will be brutal!! What about an East/West division setup? Well, at least it says that the league will be at least 8 teams...

If STG is a north team, it doesn't necessarily mean travel costs will be that bad (seeing as how LB and STG are in the same division and they only played six times this season). Let's wait to see the schedule (and let's hope it's not designed where division foes don't play in the 2nd half ... again).

My guess is that the GBL will try to put 2 more teams in Canada to make a 4 team division up there and then maybe work on putting a team in the markets that the California league is going to loose. Bakersfield and Adelanto are the two cities that are good candidates for new GBL teams, that will make enough for 2 more 4 team divisions.
However we need more teams near Chico to help with their travel cost/time. Since I live in the bay area it would make it possible for me to see my first GBL game.

I thought the Cal league Car league franchise move was dead for this year.

You are correct, I just read the Bakersfield Blaze website and saw that the talk about a move to the Carolina League was put off.
The GBL will have to find other markets to put teams there.

What a mess...could you imagine having to do KO's job or be an executive in the league, trying to make quick short decisions that you believe to be in the best interest of the league? Supporting expansion, yet some how trying to test different markets to find the right mixture, affording you the luxury of putting butts in seats, so you can keep a team in that location and not have it be a traveling circus.
I know some have their ideas, or even are brash enough to think it's easy and they could do a better job. Let's face it, reality, everyone is a critic. But, I can't EVEN imagine the hoops KO and other execs for the GBL are having to jump through, just to make things happen.
While I'd love to walk a mile in their shoes, I sure as heck don't envy the effort involved or criticism that's the result of making decisions...
