That basement office just keeps announcing anything. I think Joe has the mindset that if he sends out a press release people will sit up and take notice. Its to the point now that the only people who remotely pay any attention to press release's from the ABA is on Our Sports Central................and then it gets laughed at.

Not one of these "companies" and newly formed LLC's have ever been heard of before or since.

The best part is when you talk to Joe, he will happily tell you that he runs the whole operation, the entire she-bang out of his basement. Its actually something he is proud of and brags to people about. He thinks it conveys the affordable aspect of the ABA. It doesn't.

Please add the "deal" with Fox Sports Net in 2002 or 03, where the ABA ended the season a month early so FSN could broadcast the ABA Championship Game.

ABA held up their end of the deal...ended the season a month early....always wondered if those season ticket holders got reimbursed for games not played.

Fox Sports Net, however, screwed the ABA over by not holding up their end of the deal.

I have not watched FSN since, because of the way they treated the ABA...

I thought that was the original year, 2000-2001, where they truncated the season for a TV deal. I think they may have done it the second year as well (at least, the season was cut short - I think the second time they said it was because they had great sponsorship and venue opportunities that they couldn't wait for, and they ended up playing the finals in Vegas and Kansas City won in front of about 100 people.

And there was no 2002-2003 season, remember.

Here we go:

"The TV negotiations are going well. The Fox sports rumors are true - we will be announcing the deal before the playoffs."
--- interview on hoopsheaven.com, March 2001.

Then he blamed Mizlou or somebody, who was throwing a wrench into the deal.
