Today, I was watching Fox Sports Net and they aired commercial for the Pitbulls. This took me by surprise, but it should help attendance considering only about 1/6 of Pittsburgh knows about the team. By the way, does anybody know if they made the trip to Boston. I tried to listen to it on thier website but it wasnt on.

Pit Bulls maul Frenzy
Derek Vital, Herald News Staff Reporter

DARTMOUTH - In a scene that has become all too familiar, the Boston Frenzy faced a seemingly unsurmountable deficit before staging a miraculous comeback only to come up a few baskets short.
The Frenzy dropped a 131-121 decision to the Pennsylvania Pit Bulls Thursday night at the Tripp Athletic Center on the campus of Umass Dartmouth.

The loss was the Frenzy’s eighth in a row as they fell to 3-11.

"We might need to spot the other team 20 points on the scoreboard," joked Frenzy head coach Joe "Jellybean" Bryant. "We love to win, nothing takes the place of winning, but its also important that they understand the game. I think some of the guys are starting to do that."

The Frenzy trailed by 28 points midway through the third quarter before making a game of it with an amazing 24-0 run.

Shannon Crooks got things started for the Frenzy with a 3-pointer, making the score 82-57 with seven mintes left in the third quarter. New Bedford native Marcus Wills played a key role during the run, coming up with steals which resulted in easy transition baskets.

With 3:13 left in the quarter, a Wills steal and feed ahead to newcomer Alexis Foyle resulted in a made free throw and trimmed the Pit Bull advantage to 82-78.

"It starts with defense," said Bryant. "When you play defense, it opens up a lot of opportunites for you.

Pennsylvania finally stemmed the tide on a Jaron Brown reverse layin with 2:53 remaining and took a 95-87 lead into the fourth quarter.

Frenzy forward John Humphrey was red-hot to start the final quarter, draining four 3-pointers in the opening four minutes. Humphrey’s final trey made the score 106-103 with 8:15 remaining.

They could get no closer, however, as Brown would once again answer for the Pit Bulls, making a three-point play.

Pennsylvania leading by at least six points in the final two minutes before holding on for the double-digit victory.

Bryant did not play in this game due to the fact that the Frenzy were attempting to get minutes for new players Foyle and Attleboro native and Providence College graduate Leland Anderson. He is expected to return to the lineup some time next week.

Humphrey led the Frenzy with 32 points and Crooks followed with 23. Foyle chipped in with 21, Wills added 12 and Anderson netted 10.

Brown led the Pit Bulls with 36 points and former University of Pittsburgh teammate Julius Page added 27.

The same two teams will take the court tonight at the Tripp Athletic Center. Tipoff is slated for 7:00 p.m.

A commercial??? You can't be serious!! You mean they actually try some MARKETING?!?! Nah. What was it like?

And as noted earlier, they did make the trip to Boston, splitting the two games. Their next game is tonight at home at 7:05 against Maryland.

It basically said where the Pitbulls played and theyre upcoming home games. It had a couple seconds of game footage. The only funny part was that it said that tickets were going fast.
