Say Killbreath,

Wouldn't a smart and professional league operator post this information on their OFFICIAL WEBSITE?

Just thought I'd ask...

True, but obviously there's alot of attention on this site, so why not post here too?

BTW, Here's what happened last weekend in Athens...

Friday night, Lansing defeated Ohio 7-5, with a late empty-net goal. There were three fights in the game and about 200 people in the stands. Some might say that's low attendance (which I don't dispute), but the ONLY publicity the team did was have a few players go out and skate with the kids in the youth program on Wednesday and help the community programs. All the kids that were there LOVED the game, and were getting autographs afterwards. Obviously, this is a community poised to support their new pro hockey team.

Saturday night, Lansing defeated Ohio 4-3 in a shootout. There was only one fight in a game that was a bit slower paced than Friday night's. Since most of the youth teams were out of town and the team did (somewhat intentionally) ZERO advertising for the game, there were roughly 50 people in the stands.

Y'all can say what you will about Mike. I'm sure I don't know the whole story, nor do I care to know the whole story. What I do know is that for the past week, Mike has been making a huge effort to get this league and this team off the ground. Mike is now starting to delegate the tasks more since he has found people that he feels comfortable handling his money.

It's time for the critics to be a little more open-minded. BigChris, I know you don't like the man, but he is definitely putting in an honest effort at this point. I am, for all intensive purposes, the new GM in Athens. Mike has given me everything that I have asked for at this point. Even I was highly skeptical of the whole IIHL thing as little as a couple weeks ago. If I ask Mike for something that my players need in Athens, my players get what they need. Of course, this needs to continue for a while to completely silence all the critics, but we're off to a good start.

I know people are upset with the league's website and its lack of new information. We in Athens are looking to resolve that issue very soon with our own team, and have put forth a proposal to take care of the whole league. I myself am capable of creating a website worthy of a label of being "professional". I've already made the www.ohiobobcatshockey.com website (shameless plug), and I'm working on a few other projects right now. Be patient fans, the pro website for a pro league is upcoming shortly.

That is all I have for now. Hopefully any damage that has been done in the past can be undone with the slow success of the league. Sure, there's a long way to go on the whole deal, but the IIHL, at least in Athens, is off to a very good start.

If anybody would like information about the ice cats, feel free to post or email me anytime.

Thank you for the much needed update. Any news on the Detroit area based team?

Alas, some brains in the IIHL!

Thanks, Peetie. I'm sure you can get some support from your friends in SinSinNasty.

Put me on your PR list and let me know when you're ready to roll. I'll add you to our links page (have a nice logo so I can link to it  )!

Frankly I question weather what has been said about the Ice Cats is valid. I have heard so many different reports, (most being quite dismal,) that I have to only believe it when I see it.

The iihl, by all accounts is in shambles. I predict a quick and painful death because it's owner has a long track record of such behavior. I also feel that he will leave a lot of players and city officials holding the bag.
