I would like to rank the best organizations in the IBL. This a giving credit to organizations that play in the SH#T A@S IBL but still deserve credit for putting 100% better product then most teams.

1) Elkhart Express - Never been to a game but from what I read they take the cake. TV deal etc

2) Snohomish County Explosion - Nice setup great playoffs, video screen and PA system with NBA sounds is a nice setup even if not at the Event Center. Games are all on Comcast on Demand nice class act - Please add play-by play radio next year.

3) Edmonton Chill - Owner is a flake from what I heard from players at the tournament but gym setup, head coach, and play by play is great. New Owner and then a chance at number 1

4) Bellingham Slam - Nice venue, not the best sound setup, and the restroom facilities need work. Better then most but not top notch.
-----------
Worst team

1)- Portland - players from Bellingham were joking about playing in a middle school during the playoff weekend and after looking at the schedule I confirm that is a complete joke. Get some fans and a real facility seems Portland has a bus on the website yet no gym? I wonder if someone photoshop'ed that in to make them look big.
2) China - Don't come back to the USA until you figure out how to play. This team could not get a win until a team felt sorry for them.
--------
Upcoming team

1) Vancouver looked nice at the tournament the ownership seemed to be on top of things and coaching was solid - They got screwed on the calls in the second quarter of the Championship Game. One of the Brother Ref's never called a foul for them either but they look to be in a possible top 3 team with more fans and a better venue.

Please provide your input but take from me that that if one or two of these teams jump out of the IBL the IBL is done….

The only flake was the owner for the explosion from what the explosion players were saying by taking out all his starters. Its funny that you say the owner of the Chill is a flake when have the guys on the explosion want to play for him and that the Chill players want to come back and play for him.The ownership paid his players more than any other team in the west, paid for pier diem, flew the players down and doesn't interfere in coaching decesions unlike the Explosion owner.I can tell you from what I saw the team was run very well but at the end of the day no owner can make everyone happy.

Rank the Best Ran Orginizations in the IBL

Are we including the IBL itself? Hey, I'm just asking...

You got one right, pla. The Elkhart Express is a well-run organization, from the front office to the volunteers on game nights. One key point - it is run as a business, not as a hobby or ego-trip for owners or investors. And I don't think president of the company Daimon Beathea is going to overrule Coach Daimon Beathea on tactical decisions. :-)

I've only heard of one former player complaining about his time with the Express, and that was mainly frustration at lack of playing time. Considering the returning talent and the deep bench every year, there could be a lot more of that attitude if the team was NOT well-run.

The IBL is darn lucky to have the Elkhart Express. As is the city of Elkhart.

Homeboypla seems to have been wronged in some way by Duilio and the IBL. His drivel about the IBL being a joke, etc, is ridiculous. The IBL is in good shape and will be back in 2009. Are some owners unhappy? Probably. It's the minor leagues, of course a few teams will come and go.

The IBL championship game was scheduled to be a one game deal. I read the document. It never said where, it just said it's a one game deal. Playoffs are not mandatory. It makes sense to shut down operations and save your $$ for next season. I would like the playoffs to be more "structured" but in the minors if you can break even or even make a little money, that beats going to the playoffs and losing $$.

I do not really talk with the Explosion owner as much as I do the GM. What I can tell you though is the GM and Owner are very close friends.

Brad is a great guy and talks nothing but positive about the ownership. I guess and I think the ownership of a few other teams help coach the team also..

Bellingham, Vancouver, Tacoma, Central Oregon, Portland, so I think that an owner can do what he wants to either way I have looked at the post of sportsnut2000 and seems to be either a front office person with the Chill or an owner so go cry me a river...

Later HATER...

Well home ur wrong again I'm not the owner wish I was but i do work on game nights for the team. The team had a get together tonight where the owner talked to each player and I told them what you have wrote what you said and all I have to say is if the players ever find out who you are you will be in a little trouble. We have a good idea who you are from a good source Nathan LOL!!The ownership is the only team that pays for the teams flights to get to Edmonton and back to the States what other IBL teams do that. They have also signed 2 players from the Explosion today for next year and will make a press release about it next week.Randy Redwine has not agreed to coach the Explosion either next year either from a good source from the Chill players who said they saw him talking to the owner of the Chill over the weekend. So Home or should we say Nathan get your facts right.

...and all I have to say is if the players ever find out who you are you will be in a little trouble.

What does that mean? A little in trouble? Sounds like a very weak threat?

On a side note...I just say Redwine in my apartment complex parking lot.

Well, I am back from NYC and trying to write the last paper I’ll have to turn in until at least September. Expect regular updates now that I have a bit more free time to write, and a lot more time to troll the internet looking for rumours and news stories.

The Rainmen are still getting a fair amount of news coverage despite there only being one real daily paper in Halifax now, the team being in the off season with no players signed for the 08-09 season, and not even being members of a league.

Today’s Chronicle Herald has a piece by Chad Lucas on (former?) Rainman Eric Crookshank. Not a whole lot of new info but two things that are of note:

1) Eric is currently hanging out and working out in Preston while living with Derico Wigginton-Downey.

2) He clarifies why he’s not with the Edmonton Chill - he says his contract promised room and board as part of the contract and that upon arriving he was told to pay for his own hotel room. His agent told him to leave so he flew to Halifax. This is contrary to the Chill’s version of events.

Looks like homeboy's drivel about SnoCo leaving the IBL and being very unhappy was not true. The West's playoffs will be hosted by SnoCo for the next three years. Homeboy has an axe to grind with the IBL for some reason so take what he writes with a grain of salt. Is the league perfect? Of course not, but the IBL is fine and will be back for season five in 2009.

Considering the commissioner's comments about playoffs not being that important, why is he making such a big deal about this now - other than to keep a team from bolting?

And thanks for the grain of salt warning, but Morton's sales had already gone way up when pla started posting.

#6 - Vancouver
#7 - Central Oregon

#9 - Portland
#10 - Windy City

This list was not based on # of fans, but rather on my teams overall experience.

Ok everyone love me or hate me I am the inside scoop.

I like coach Savage - Welcome to the boards- assesment of the best ran orginizations. I just wish the IBL would get better Leage ownerships. Talked with some Chill Players "Yes sorry sportsnut but you are not as connected to your team as you think" and they say that Troy Barns - Whom changed his name just a few years agao (running from something bro) is now looking to purchase the IBL or another league.

Sharp Shooter DUNN who thought that the grass was greenier then playing for his team the HotShots jumped ship as he thought the CHill was legit now is saying that this was a scam of a team and that the owner and Head Coach never even talked.

Take Edmonton out of the top 10 of anything. Smoke and Mirrors only works one season not any more later DUDE..

I got my tickets for SLAM Mannia and wow some great coverage for the slam on the local radio. I will make a post of my predition but it is Blue and white all over.

I was wrong about the Explosion -WISH I WAS NOT- but I can only go on information from my sources and it seems that not all sources are in the know.

Dude - spend less time trying to convince everyone (including yourself?) you're hot stuff and spend more time trying to make sense.
