Does anyone know what happen to 2007 SilverSox star Kane Simmons??

We all know he was picked up by the Rockies last year.. however I cannot find him on any roster affiliated or independent...

Simmons, 23, a 6-1 200 pound outfielder went on to lead the GBL for the season in home runs with 18 (next closest had just 14) and in Slugging Percentage with a .628. He also finished in the Top Ten in both batting average (.326) and RBIs with 54 while only playing two-thirds of the season. In the post-season he was named a GBL All-Star, GBL Rookie of the Year, All Independent League First Team, and was tabbed by Baseball America as the #4 Independent Prospect in the nation.

He is WAY too talented to not be playing baseball anymore.

Both Baseball Cube and Howe Sports Data have nothing beyond his time with the GBL.

I don't know exactly how often Baseball Cube updates, but Howe Sports Data updates daily, all Major and Minor league stats.

http://www.howesportsdata.com/howesportsdata/baseball/hst2008s.htm

And Kane Simmons isn't listed on the daily list...and in the yearly one, they only have up to his time with the GBL.

Hope this helps.

He has probably discovered what many other players before him have dicovered, there is no life after the GBL.

The question was what happened to Kane Simmons of the GBL. He was signed in December 2007 to the Colorado Rockies and went to spring training in Tucson, AZ. He was assigned to extended spring training until a few weeks ago, when he was sent to the advanced rookie league and is playing for the Casper Ghosts in Wyoming. His name is Thomas Kane Simmons and they have him listed in the stats as Thomas Simmons. He was player of the game in the first 3 out of 6 games that he has played in.

As Kane's next door neighbor and officially his 2nd dad (next to his real dad of course), I too keep tabs on Kane and how his career is going. Since his mother posted the fact that he was playing ball in Casper Wyoming, he has been promoted twice and is now heading to Modesto, California to the High A team for the Colorado Rockies. This most recent promotion had him skipping a level so the organization must see something special in Kane as we all do.
