My efforts to catalog this mess of a league have not been completely thwarted yet. What I need now is a list of teams that moved to and played in other leagues. (i.e. Bellingham Slam still play in the IBL) This includes teams that moved and have also since folded. I think the NEPA Breakers were an IBL team for a year or so... All help would be appreciated!

Is Jaurez Gallos still playing in Mexico?
Also, both Texas and Mississippi played last year in the WBA, and Orange County and possibly Maywood were to play this summer in the West Coast League.
What about the Miami Tropics?

Looking at the list, I can understand Joe's distaste for other leagues and the PBL in particular. I don't believe he gave these other franchises much other than a market reservation, but to see all of these teams go elsewhere must aggravate.
That NEPA team coming from the ABA to the USBL really started the dominos falling for the demise of the USBL. They were a trainwreck from the get-go and folded in the USBL about halfway through....which led to their closest team, Pennsylvania, to go under...and the rest is history!

The Miami Tropics are a FIBA Americas League team. and potentially a PBL team as they are also looking to be part of the BSN by 2010.

I have an extensive list of the franchises of many minor leagues including the ABA dating back 2000 season, this details the season by season records, coaching staff, general manager and other information.
I previously offered this information to Smokin Joe, to add some legitimacy to the leagues website and its contents, however never recieved a reply.

Ya by memory, in a post about 12 months ago, basketoz, did have a great list. There is another guy on another board about Australian Basketball who wrote posts about the ABA. Its actually incredibly valuble Pioneers101, as this guy basically started posting about the ABA years back and updating his own post with ins and outs of the ABA and all the teams joining, leaving and simply vanishing.
Somebody must have a link to that Australian site.
BTW - Basketoz, if you ever want Joe to get back to you just tell him you want to put a team in Norfolk Island or the Whitsundays, he'll be calling in 4-5 hours saying how much he loves both places and has thought for years basketball could work there.
