The Los Angeles Stars and Portland Reign rescheduled their games that where to be played 12/28 & 12/19 in Portland.....
March 11th & 13th, 2005 are the new dates....no one had to forfiet or anything like that....
All the idiots on this board talking S**t about the ABA....he the ABA must be doing something good if you are talking about it everyday....
I sense that you are upset that you are not a part of it and wishing you was....contact the teams and people in the office before you start to hate on teams...and hurting chances for guys to move on....

Yes, I'm so jealous I'm not getting paid by an ABA team.
Oh, wait - lots of people aren't getting paid by ABA teams. Including people who work for ABA teams.
Our beef isn't with the players who are trying to do the best for themselves. It's about the morons in charge. Specifically the head moron.

There are people here whose interest is protecting their market for a real league. If sponsors bail on a possible, say, Calgary CBA team because the Drillers were such a joke, of the league's doing, some potential owner is going to be one discombobulated puppy.
Others simply enjoy train wrecks... and we know 'em when we see 'em.
It's highly possible that someone's potentially serious venture in a Jacksonville or a Colorado Springs is being nuked because of this. That has to be fought.

Hoopology has had the task of holding a franchise together whose ownership group essentially "bailed". I think he's done the best he can do under the circumstances and I understand his frustration.
I have called out members of the Nashville press when there was inaccurate reporting about the Rhythm, and it sounds like you may need to do the same with the press in Portland, as the genesis of this dispute is a report in the Portland press that LA was a "no-show" for 2 games there.
Merry Christmas and Best Wishes, Hoopology. Here's to your getting a qualified and committed ownership group at your back. That would be a nice Christmas gift for both you and for the LA Stars.

Hoopology,
Contact the teams or front offices and get what for a response? More spin? Or a response like your post?
You are right about the ABA doing something good though. The ABA is teaching a valuable lesson.

There are times when weather or travel mixups or major disasters or terrorist attacks postpone a basketball game. Those get rescheduled, and people understand that.
This is the second time Portland has had to "host" an intrasquad game or thereabouts because the schedule didn't pan out. Show me the press release with the explanation, please. Even then, I can't blame the paper in question for exhibiting some serious skepticism. They have a responsibility to inform the readers when it looks like something is circling the drain. They are not responsible for withholding information in order to keep a team alive (or most any living creature, seemingly).
