I wasn't at the game & just saw the above result on the Can Am League webpage - ouch. There was no info. on the game at the Rapidz webpage, nor could I find a box score anywhere. One & three to start the season, from what i've seen so far the Rapidz need help in RF, 3B & of course pitching - you can never have enough pitching. Was at the game Sat night & was disappointed at the size of the crowd. So now they are off on a 7 game road trip. A chance to meld a little bit more as a team. Hopefully Nottle can come up with some more experienced players to improve the team. Haven't heard any more on Pirman since they said he was expected to report last Friday. Somewhat surprised at the unactivity at the new Rapidz blog lately. Lets hope the Rapids can win a few on the road trip.

Jackals 15 Rapidz 6
The Rapidz are now 1-3 after losing 6-1 on Saturday night and 15-6 this afternoon.
On Saturday, their lone run came in the eighth inning as Bergeron lead off the inning with a hit. One out and two walks later, the run scored on a fielder's choice. In total, the Rapz collected only five hits. They were awarded 6 walks and left 10 on base. Done was the winner while Trias took the loss.
This afternoon, the mascot was unveiled in the name of Rookie the bear. Other Ottawa mascots were there to welcome him to the mascot community.
The Rapz got in trouble early and often.
Greg Bunn started gave a double to Smithlin, hit Sanders. Then Nivar surprisingly sacraficed. After getting the second out, Bunn allowed a hit for the first run then gave up two bases loaded walks and the Jackals took a 4-0 lead as they batted around in the first inning.
The Rapidz did not take it sitting down. Lemieux doubled, De Los Santos singled. Lemieux scored on Bergeron's double play.
Bunn looked like he settled down in the second. Cibney Bello had started warming up in the first. But eight men came to the plate in the third for three more runs and a 7-1 Jackals lead. Bunn left after 2.2 IP having allowed five hits and seven walks.
Bello held New Jersey at bay until the sixth as this time, they sent eleven men to the plate. Smithlin got two hits in that inning as part of his 4-for-6 night.
Bright spots for Ottawa was Kyle Geiger's home run in the fifth, the first in Rapidz history. His blast was leading off the inning in which the Rapz also scored on a De Los Santos single followed by a Bergeron triple. Jabe Bergeron also hit one out in the seventh going 3-for-5 this afternoon.
Pete Pirman also made his debut in right field and went 2-for-4, including a double and 2 RBIs.
Isaac Pavlik was the Jackals starter pitching well and earned the win. The big problem was Bunn allowing seven walks. Bello pitched well until running into trouble. Mejlholm and Pilkington also pitched well. There were 3398 in attendance.
