Well it's official Canadian National Team Member Jermaine Bucknor has joined the Edmonton Chill as he practiced with the team tonight and will be in the starting line up tommorow night against Everett.I have also been told by someone with the team they have another big signing coming up on Tuesday and has played in the IBL in 2006 and 2007 and was an all-star both years.Looks like the Chill will be making a serious run for the championship.Have been to 4 games and the team puts on a great show with lots of promos and giveaways and great action on the court and the team at 1200 fans a game has to be one of the top 3 teams in the IBL in attendance.

With a daunting seven-game road trip beginning next week, the Edmonton Chill have made a small adjustment to their roster adding a pair of forwards in Antwon Mills and Marco Morgan.

Antwon, a 6'8" 240 pound forward, is a former teammate of the Chill's JR Patrick when they played together for the IBL club in Eugene, OR during the 2006 season. Mills averaged 15 points, 9.3 rebounds, and 2.4 blocks per game that season. Mills returned to the Chargers in 2007 where he posted nearly identical numbers - 14 points, 9.8 boards, and 2.3 blocks through the 20 game season. Antwon has also played internationally for several years, most recently with Llanquihue Puerto Varas in Chile. Over his 11 games there he collected 112 rebounds, good for 6th in the nation's top hoops division. He led his team in blocks and was third on the club in scoring. Antwon will arrive in Edmonton today and be in uniform for this weekend's games.

The Chill also announced the signing of Marco Morgan. Marco a 6'8", 260 pound forward/center comes to the team from the Snohomish Co. Explosion. Prior to that he played with the Seattle Mountaineers, and played the 2006 IBL season with the Portland Chinooks (averaged 20.0 ppg in 12 games). Morgan's college career started at the University of Akron where in his first year he played 27 games averaging 8.7 ppg and 2.3 rpg. Morgan's second year he played 28 games with an average of 10.0 ppg and 5.3 rpg. Marco just returned from playing pro-ball in Japan and will join the team on their road trip and then return to Edmonton for the remainder of the 2008 campaign.

To make room on the roster for Mills and Morgan, the Chill released Teon Knox. Knox's production and minutes had been falling over the last few weeks and the with the team playing 7 games in 10 days on their upcoming road swing, his durability was becoming an issue. "Teon was a decent guy, but has been battling some nagging injuries and his conditioning has been an issue all season long," Owner Troy Barns said. Barns added, "Plus there were some off-court things that kept coming up, nothing too serious, but it was just getting to be too much work."

Sad to see Teon Knox get released. He is a very good low post player with soft hands and a very soft touch. I saw him play when he was with the Central Oregon Hotshots and he was a force. When he was on the court the offense always flowed better.

Marco Morgan is a good pick up. Banger on the inside and will gobble up rebounds and play physical.

He was nothing with the Explosion last year (Nick name was the travel king) he alwasy gets called walking with the ball and this year he called the Explosion twice and they passed on him both times.

Redwine did not like having a big guy that was a wimp on the boards.

Yes, very sad to see Teon Knox go. Not only was Teon a good low post player, he was and is one of the best players I have ever seen with the kids. Young kids who have dreams of wearing his shoes some day! After every game he went out of his way to meet and greet them, recalling them by their names, believe it or not! Although I understand 'why', we were equally sadden with this news. I wish the Chill the best with their new picks! Go Chill Go!

Thats funny to say that about Marco Morgan considering he just got back from Japan a week ago that he called twice.I had talked to Redwine and Brad the GM for the Explosion and asked about Marco and they said they would have loved to have him back on the team and why wouldn't they he was an IBL All-Star in 2006 with Portland. With the new additions with Antwon Mills and Marco the team looks good.It is sad to see Teon go as his production was down the last few games and with some off court issues that had been brought to management attention they really had no choice.Should be a great weekend series coming up with Portland in town this weekend.Hopefully the crowds will continue to be in the 1500 range.

I have my own felling about Marco who was on the team last year. I do not know Randy Redwine or brad as much as you seem to as I just talked with Randy last year about Marco after the playoffs and he said that Marco got killed by the seven foot center Bird of Sanata Barabra.. Where are they now the Breakers????

After reading these posts before the Chill's road trip to the East, I was a bit nervous. However, after watch two of the most lop-sided games in elkhart Express history, I'm left feeling that there is currently no team from the west that can give eastern teams a run for their money.

Sure, west fans will say that the Chill was missing a player or two.....but the Chill lost two games to the Express by almost 100 POINTS! And the Chill lost to Windy City, who has a decent team, but should have been beaten by a team that was as "advertised" as the Chill. I'm just disappointed, I was looking forward to 2 good games, but only ended up with free Big Macs. (The Express give away free Big Macs from McDonalds if they score over 130 points in a game ---- and this season there have been a TON of them given away.)

GO EXPRESS.

Seems Canada's exchange rate is more of a challange to figure out then the Chill's orginization. Players in the press coming after the coach and he passes this of as Minor League players just complaining.

Yet I question the ownership as the coache's son is not even on the road trip? Marco is a fake of a center and this is playing out as Randy Redwine (Explosion Coach) told me.

Owner Nathen Mumm said Marco led the team with travels and was a nice guy but not a center more of a power forward with no outside game.

You should get your facts straight before you go saying players aren't been paid.I work part time for the team and know all players get paid in fact they were paid before they left on the road trip even though it wasn't payday along with their per diem all up front. For the coaches son not playing he is at a NBA pre draft camp in Floridia. The ownership had a problem with one guy he is gone and why is it that every player or team that comes here say that the Chill run one of the best minor league basketball teams and that players want to come play here.Get your facts right especially when you don't know what is going on here as it's not fair to the ownership group for someone like you to say they are not paying there players.

Who was that one player? I know of one player who reportedly had a problem with the Chill.
