MONTREAL SASQUATCH JOINS PREMIER BASKETBALL LEAGUE
(Chicago, IL)… The Premier Basketball League officially announced today that the Montreal Sasquatch, of the Province of Quebec, Canada, have joined as an expansion team when the professional league begins play in the upcoming 2008/2009 season.
The Montreal ownership group is headed by Réal Bourassa, CEO of Groupe Conseil Référence Inc.
“We have been following the PBL since it’s inception and are excited to be apart of something very special,” stated Bourassa. “This is going to be a great opportunity to not only showcase professional basketball to the fans in Montreal, but also provide some terrific rivalry’s within Canada and abroad.”
“Montreal is going to be a great complement and natural rivalry for our Toronto and Quebec teams,” said PBL President and Chief Executive Officer Thomas E. Doyle. “Réal Bourassa brings a tremendous amount of experience and business success and we could not be happier to welcome Montreal into the Premier Basketball League.”
