From a good source, Joe is so upset that his ABA is falling apart and his lies cant conceal this fact that he dug up a 2 year old attorney letter and sent it to Vermont and Manchester to scare them that he will take legal action. I am getting a copy of the letter.
He is working behind the scenes to berate Vermont and Manchester, Are we surprised? He has told Manchester that he has another team in place there.
Anyone still want a team in the rec league semi pro ABA?

a2, like most of your posts, this was one is also hard to believe. It is amazing what you will say to get attention. The FH are done with the ABA, but you still won't give up on this Joe and ALex thing, will you?

I will get confirmation of this when I get to DC tomorrow morning. Shockingly enough, I know how to reach both owners and get the information straight from them.........

No, he won't. Nor should he, at least where Joe is concerned. And regardless of how hard to believe it is, a lot of what he's called has come about, so I myself welcome his posts.
The ABA part 2 (Joe's ABA) should be berated until, to quote the Wizard of Oz, it's really most sincerely dead.

I will get confirmation of Fells statement about a2, when I go to LA on Monday morning. Sadly enough, I know how to reach all three owners and can get the information straight from them. Then I will have your manager call my manager and we can get together for lunch!!!!!
It is amazing that everyone on this website is some type of basketball super hero!!

This isn't the same ole Joe/ALex thing now is it? Sounds to me like just the opposite. By virtue of them now being out of the ABA, a1 might just be Vermont's biggest fan! (Whooda thunk?)
a1, please don't spoil it by saying it was too late or he could have saved the league earlier, etc, etc. Please be gracious in victory.

Fells has a number of contacts in his media rolodex for the ABA, PBL, and other teams. He can get the information straight from them, without conjecture or guessing.
Standard has a great number of people within the sport to draw upon for information.
Not everyone here is a superhero. But, we all know that you can never build an arena at a higher elevation, or let the lawn boy have access to our computer.

Yeah ABA Champ....you just happen to be a fan who has stumbled on a message board that has actual, real, basketball people participating! And actual, real basketball people that have been affected adversly by the good ol' ABA!

I got on, because i got word of this malarchy. After playing a baseball game in Southern California, Watching the TIVO of the BSN VS NCAA game and then the All Star game of the BSN, I would have thought there was going to be nothing on the boards. Now this.
Yes I have been affected by Joe Newman, what minor league owner, majority or minority, city, venue, players have not been affected across the board due to this man? He has affected leagues such as the CBA and the PBL by his infestation of former incompetent beings that were involved in this so called league.
Now I address this to the CEO of ThePlanet.com; Chris Munson will find out if this is true of what you are saying, I will find out if this is true of what you're saying. Lets get this straight, no one cares of what Joe is doing, what we care about is that he stops destroying Minor League Basketball to Levels that Isiah Thomas couldn't do. What is Joe going to do to Manchester and Vermont muddle their Market with fools that know nothing of this game?
Yes I'm a basketball person that gets highly affected by simpletons such as Joe Newman, Michael Tuckman, Spyder Hughes, Freedom Williams, Felix of Jacksonville and others that have infested minor league basketball via the path of Joe Newman. And I have gotten to see men such as Marlyn Bryant who was screwed by a Newmanite and now is loved by the fans that he plays for and admired by millions of kids in my Puerto Rico.
I also know of what Mr. Newman has asked a specific person to do in regards of an ABA Caribbean division (gee the CBA route being done by another Newmanite in Ricardo "The Used Car Salesman" Richardson) and to put a team in Puerto Rico, to host the all star game to host the great 8. That person is not insane, for what to be banned for life? Banned by the BSN and the Federation? Nooooo. Here some news. That person is going to put his money to the PBL team that will announce their membership on Monday.
We will see. Oh yes we will see

I'm certainly no insider. Frankly I wouldn't even be classified as a basketball fan, never watch the game on TV except the Final Four, Olympics and a few NBA game 7's. I'm more interested in the business of minor league sports.
Heres my dilemna..............
1/ Its my opinion that A1sports is right the majority of the time on matters regarding the ABA. I've stated before, he has the most info of any one poster.
2/ Joe has handled the departure of Manchester and Vermont professionally (that we the public can see)
3/ I'm waiting on Fells, he has been able to confirm/deny a lot of ABA matters of late.
4/ I fail to see Joe's logic, if A1's allegations are true.
Also Standard. I've read this oblique reference to theplanet.com on at least one other post. Can you fill us in on what it means?

If Joe had ANY logic, the current ABA would be serviceable. Not thriving, just serviceable.
Joe's MO is EMOTIONAL. This is completely clear from his propaganda... I didn't need a1 to tell me this. His grasp of the technical and the logical is fleeting at best... and that's why this is a POORLY run scam.
EDIT- I'm convinced that the ever-continuing shell corporation games being played are Tinkham's field of play... and if going public was his idea, well, that says loads about HIM, no?

Pounder, you bring up an interesting point. Mr. Newman takes a lot heat, and rightly so. He's the one opening his mouth time and time again. But Mr. Tinkham owns just as much of the league as Mr. Newman does. At best, he signs off on Mr. Newman's actions, if by no other means by doing nothing to stop them. How long can he fly under the radar?

Until he pisses off a1sports like Alex did.
Duh.

And it is my opinion that his method of revealing that info makes him look like the old lady who writes thirty letters to the editor a week decrying potholes, kids who walk across her lawn and the people who are transmitting secret coded Nazi messages through her television set.
Almost always, the information is posted in a thread that begins, basically, "Hey, Joe, look what I've got on you now! Nyah! I'll show you!" After 330+ of them, it's just old and tired already.
I think he'd garner a lot more respect from the rest of us if the info wasn't so tied up in the delivery. If he just posted "I'm told that this happened and this happened and this will happen," and then if it came to pass, you'd have ammunition for your statement that he's right the majority of the time (as long as it's not about Chinese restaurants that have been closed for years).
But most of the rest of us can't hear what he's saying very well because of the volume and tone at which its said and because of the rapsberries that come along with it.
It's enough already. You have info? Great. Post it. But the constant "I've got one over on YOU and I'm going to bring you DOWN by posting what I know on a MESSAGE BOARD" meme is really, really tiresome.

A flute with no hole is not a flute. But a donut without a hole is a Danish.
I freaking said that the problem isn't as much the content as the context.
We're willing to stipulate (though running the numbers might produce a different outcome) that the info is correct more often than not. I just wish the rhetoric and the agenda weren't so loud and obvious and, well....frigging nuts.
