what are the skyhawks doing????? they have released mike torres, a league leader in batting last season for north shore???? he was going to be the starting 2B.
also there pitching is nothing too impressing, if we get dittfurth back and bishop off the inactive list then we are looking to be in good shape.
does anyone know if there was mamagemant struggles or club house problems with torres????
or did mr. Big shot not liking playing in a little old cowtown????
what was the reason for releasing him????

O men of little faith...!!!
Hal the Man has been around (successfully) indy ball for ages... cut him a little slack. He's building a team with players he is familiar with... which means players YOU are not familiar with! A lot of former Northern league and American Association players
Could be that Torres didn't want to accept the money he was offered because of his 2007 offensive stats so..... Bye Bye amigo!
Don't tear up your shirt just yet!

hey guys sorry I havent posted in a while, I just got a new fish tank and have been reading up on it alot.
Torres- Probably didnt want the money because of 07, but he could be a one year wonder so its a good move bad move situation.
either that or he didnt get along with a coach or important player.
Also Its sad but I wont be able to go to opening night, I have a little league game, but I'll probably go the the game on the 23rd. That stat comparison was very nice skyhawker, shows you are a loyal skyhawks fan.
Anyway back to torres. Its gonna be hard without him, but hopefully Chris Brown can pull through though. In pitching they MUST get Dittfurth back to fill in for Bishop if hes out into the regular season. Please hal, make the right choice and bring back DITTY!!Go SKYHAWKS!!!!!!!!!:D

ok heres the deal......
not to sound rude or anything but "ditty" was not as good as you are making him out to be...and he wont be the savior for the pitching staff. he had decent numbers and by decent i mean nothing great.
secondly someone asked about lawyer. he was in spring training camp with the winnipeg goldeyes and got released. i listened to one of the games he threw in and from the sounds of it throws hard but has no control...i could be wrong.
there ya go.....
yet lastly torres was a one hit wonder...no loss. id rather have hackneys ability to know the staff and his d then what you might get out of torres
