Today in Alaska the head coach and star player were on TV saying the coaching staff and football team including the cheerleaders and their coaches were walking out if there is no change in the abuse they have suffered over the last year.
Dave Weatherholt the owner looked silly on tv you could tell he was lieing he tried to say he fired the head coach but the coach was at practice.
I know Anchorage they will not support the owner he has bounced more checks than an NBA team with a bball.
I hope he gets bought out so football lives on

Just when you thought the NIFL was gone, it surfaces by another name in Alaska....

AK fans, google NIFL or our old friend Jamie Lamunyon..... you will see she wrote the book on stupid is what stupid does and Weatherholt is merely stealing a few chapters...

IFL, cut and run baby before it drags you down...

Just when I was getting bored and thought things had settled down... Thans Dave for the drama....

The team claims the crisis is over:

We would like to apologize for the recent reports about the team. There will not be a player strike. The game is still on for Sunday May 11th, as the Alaska Wild will play the Louisiana Swashbucklers. There will be changes in the organization, details to be announced soon

And the result of this game will probably not tell any story, because Louisiana will thump them regardless.

The team claims the crisis is over:

The crisis isn't necessarily over, but is in the process of being properly dealt with. The league has stepped in and potential new owners are lining up, one of which being Dan Austin (owner of the Billings Outlaws).

Here's the latest scoop: http://www.adn.com/sports/story/397309.html

Anchorage should support indoor football. Just have to "start over" as many communities have done around the country. It is not as easy as people sometimes think. Whom ever buys it better understand what they are getting into... Current ownership has burned some bridges that must be rebuilt (and that will cost $$)

If AK can get Austin, go for it (doubtful, Montana is a long way from Alaska), if anyone can turn the team around on and off the field it's this guy... Outlaws 2006 Champions despite the leagues (now defunct NIFL) efforts to stand in thier way....

Go Outlaws.....

He is a very good owner that brings the highest level of interpretation to the indoor sport as proof of his new facilites that rival afl organizations, never mind af2.

I met with Dave and have kept in contact with him since my trip to Alaska last summer. There is a good demand for the product there. Is the talent level high in the IFL, no, can he succeed there yes.

I for one hope that loud mouth coach never gets a shot at being in charge of anything higher than kiddie leagues. Looking at the article it was clear that coach went around talking to all the staff and players to get them to back his desperate ass. When are these unproven un professional coaches going to learn that it is all about the players...not them!?

Dave also gave me some "Wild" clothing when I was there, it all had the AF2 logos on it, which obviously after he had the fan base, investors and extra capital he was going to go AF2 like he originally planned on doing!!

I am tired of all this bs talk, I am ready to see posted resumes (attached to sports teams) under the people who make these comments!

Champ....

So all the folks posting on ADN site about what a smuck DW is and what a stand up guy the Coach is, must all be family of the coach... doubtfull...

Also A2 on an IFL shows you what? It's just wrong to promote something you are not.

seek therapy for your hostilities and remeber it is just a fan forum good and bad....

OK, now you can call me names, it's OK...

Holy Cow I cant stop laughing, I live in anchorage, and maybe championbuilder, Dave can send you some prison clothing when this finally gets finished. Please feel free to investigate before you chime in. By the way I'm not related to coach, but I was standind beside him when the Broncos won their first superbowl. we were on the sidelines. I won more than one superbowl
