We have updated some logos on the GBA website www.GBAhoops.com and want your comments on the new logos so we can pass it on to our designers.
Thanks for your support.

Pretty cool! Just a few questions:

1. Do you have a set lineup of teams?
2. What happened to the Carolinas Fury and Jax Crox? Didn't they have owners?
3. Do you have a schedule?
4. If not, when do you plan on beginning play?

To be completely honest, the overwhelming majority of those logos are amateurish and extremely poor in design.

Your best logo, by a wide margin, is the Marauders. However, it is going to be revised.

ok, i'll bite for fun. only the fury logo and maybe the bombers have the degree of professionalism that you need to be taken seriously as a league. (i know that hasn't stopped others.) a few points:

1. make sure every logo is of the same style and format..font size relative to the logo, level of detail in the design of each logo, etc.
2. makes sure each website is consistent and essentially a simple portal that you provide...don't let the teams do this on their own. The dleague and cba do this, as supposedly will the pbl this year (not that you are trying to compete there necessarily, but why not look good.)

Honestly, i think you need to go back to your designers (or get new ones) and ask for 10 quality logos with a web portal design. For very little investment you can look better than the Dleague. Designers are a dime a dozen. Then, you just need to get your games played.

Then, you just need to get your games played.

...and build a credible, first year, fan and media base.

Hey Moose,

Before I go into each logo (yep, I had plenty of time to kill this afternoon), I'd like to make a couple of general comments:

1) Settle on an official GBA basketball design and use it consistently when a basketball is to be used as part of a team’s logo.
2) Have ALL of the logos redone, even if you’re not changing the logo whatsoever, by a professional so they have a similar appearance and quality.

Now on with the show:

Atlanta Moose – The two basketballs hide the antlers which actually makes the moose head look more like a camel or kangaroo. Try using just a moose head and have one larger ball being supported by the antlers.

Savannah Marauders – For the most part, I really like this logo and text. The only change I’d suggest is to redo the shadow on his nose to make it less noticeable.

Bronx Breakouts – I think I’d place the “Breakouts” text lower so that you can make the bars resemble cell bars by adding one or two small horizontal bars.

Tallahassee Tango – Ugh! Start completely over. The name Tango is fine but I’d try to put a Latin dance (Flamenco?) couple in silhouette dancing on top of a GBA basketball.

Harlem Hammer – I don’t really get the nickname but the logo looks like some summer job company’s logo. Toss it. And the nickname, too.

Panama City Bay Snatchers – It a Bay Snatcher a mini-tornado? I don’t get it. A Bay Snatcher sounds like a fisherman to me. Start from scratch on this one.

Kern County Vipers – Vipers is sooo overused but the logo needs to be redone. Maybe a hissing snake wrapped around a GBA basketball?

Wilmington Wave Rockers – Put the ball on top of the wave?

Macon Bacon – Now this is the type of nickname the GBA could be known for! The hog looks like he’s trying to lick the basketball. Maybe that’s the point, I don’t know. But I’d try to do something similar to the Arkansas Razorbacks logo.

Brooklyn Brawlers – Too similar to the Carolina Rockers. Carolina’s name fits the logo better, also. A Brawler is a fighter... duh! Put a silhouette of a boxer’s upper torso inside a GBA basketball.

Knoxville Smokey Goats – I’d put a cool charging goat with his head bent forward as the logo. And no basketball.

Tennessee Varmits – Sounds too close to “Vomits”, but could be special if a cool rat was designed. Maybe a redneck-looking rat with overalls and looking all mangy with a piece of wheat in his mouth like Huck Finn.

Jax Crox – I’d just use the gator’s (oops, I mean crox’s) head biting a GBA basketball.

Daytona Beach Bombers – This is probably the best of the bunch. Change the basketball to a GBA version and its perfect.

Tri-State Zombies – Cool name. Maybe have a large “Z” and show the zombie from the waist up behind it grabbing it with one arm while reaching out to us with the other.

Orlando Omen – Lawsuit anyone? I can’t believe you even posted that one! Shhh! Don’t tell the Orange Bowl committee! “Omen” will be hard to work up a logo for. Better change the nickname.

New Jersey Shore Cats – I kinda like this one. Looks cute and innocent. Keep it as is except for using a GBA basketball.

Austin City Jamm – Eeek! “Jamm” is fine but the logo needs to be redone. And in a hurry!

Carolinas Fury – Not a big fan of this one, especially the long name in the circle. I’d go with an outline of the two states with a hurricane logo covering them. Maybe a GBA basketball could be the eye of the storm.

Carolina Rockers – What is that dude? A gray monkey? An ashy Genie? The concept is fine, just redo the dude to a funny looking (silly) black or white guy. Not gray.

Hickory Nutz – Love the name. I’d have a cutesy squirrel holding the GBA basketball like he’s about to eat it.

Salisbury Steaks – Another fun name. The logo is actually ok if you use the GBA basketball and make the ball kind of warp where the seams meet so that it kinda looks like a snout with eyes.

Florence Flyers – Looks fine except change to the GBA basketball.

Fayetteville Ragin’ Rebels – Logo seems ok but I’d put the GBA basketball as a logo on the front of his hat like it’s pinned onto it. I might tone down the blood a bit also.

That's my two cents.
