Yakama is gone. Who knows about Butte and Atlanta? No word on where Great Falls will move or even return. And now this.....
Did someone from the ABA take over the CBA and I missed it?

That happened a couple seasons ago.

Here's the CBA's new theme song:

That is a way for the CBA to collect more Franchise fees and have it's players far enough away so that when the team doesn't pay them, no one will hear about it. I sent 5 players to the CBA...never again!

Yes, it's all about the franchise fees now. That's why there will never be a CBA/PBL merger under the present CBA administration. Some teams may leave the CBA for the PBL, but a merger will never see the light of day.

This seems most likely at this point.
I agree with that. But, with Yakama gone, the only original member is now Albany. So with the other teams fairly new to the league(no idea where the Alley Cats currently stand), the Patroons are the only team that I see is a possibility to switch if they desire, although they are one of three teams(RGV and Oklahoma) selling tickets for next season.
I can be wrong, but I would look for the CBA to add teams. My guess would be that the rest of the teams may think it too early to switch, which may or may not affect fan base which they are trying to build.

Psbf,
Have you talked to the X about the merger? What do they say?

They are praying they aren't left out in the cold!
No, Skippy. But I am planning to inquire about it in their coming appearances at Heinz Field and or Monroeville Expo Mart hoops contest, in May.
As I've said, I don't care what league we are in, as long as they play.
My instincts tell me that things will be ok for the coming CBA season.
I don't see that as funny, DandA.

Sorry, wasn't trying to be funny. But, there are only two basic plays:
1. They are being proactive in the process, participating in a "merger" discussion, and/or are weighing their own options, including a league switch. Geography is at least on the side of the X.
2. They are doing nothing, hoping it all works out.
If it's #2, then they better toss in the prayer....no joke intended.

No offense but I am not suRe how you can say that the CBA will be fine for next year. I have heard 2 separate things. Players from the Krunk have contacted the Departments of Labor in Georgia and NY regarding non-payment and they have also gotten many of the players together who weren't paid to file suit.
I have also heard that the Atlanta Constitution is writing a story. This could have severe ramifications for any attempt to add teams and or continue this league.
I just hope Daleo gets to the NBA quick!
DandA, I don't know if they are involved in any talks, but I do see that they have offseason activities, so I'm happy about that.
Madups, I'm sorry if I gave the wrong impression. I know that three teams are doubtfull, but I was speaking for the remaining franchises.

Psbf,
Could you call them before that and ask? I think we'd all like to know and you probably have the best connection of anyone here. I hope the X and Skyrockets have another good year.
Thanks.
Your CBA pal,
Skippy
I'll be at one of their two(or both) upcoming events next month, Skippy. I can find out then. I want to find out when their tickets go on sale.

I understand you wanting to ask them then, I'm just getting impatient and want to know what is going on. A month seems so long to wait for information about CBA basketball.
I understand your impatience, Skippy. But keep in mind that with three teams that are selling for next season, most teams(including the X and Skyrockets) are not yet.

Maybe the CBA can hook up with the AIBA--a proposed 2008 Caribbean basketball league.
