City pays for 650,000 in improvements.
Team pays city 50,000 per year.
Looks like Portland wants to get the team here pretty badly.

Does anyone else use that building other than the Pirates?

The pirates play in Cumberland County Civic center 6,000- 7,000 capacity
Built in the 70's
The Portland Expo is very old and the capacity is much less 3,209.
The High School Basketball teams currently play there.
No ice surface.

Got it, thanks...............
my first thought is 650k isn't going to go to far. That'll spruce up the locker rooms and maybe add some lights but that isn't a lot.
I'm glad to see someone is doing something but 650k won't stretch too far.

The Cumberland Civic Center use to be the home of the Boston Bruins AHL affiliate until Providence got them.
Any chance Providence will get the Boston Celtics affiliate?
Is it the Dunkin Donuts center.
Bruins play there, Providence College play there (hockey and Basketball)?
Is there room for the baby celtics to rent the Dunkin Donuts Center?

Probably not...they'd be going up against a Major-level basketball program. They'd be better off in Portland.
