Way to go Cavs!!!! Terrific Series! It is a shame it couldn't have been in Lawton!!! Props to Minot! They are a great team too!

Let's see...
Micheal Ray Richardson becomes the fourth former NBA player to win a CBA coaching championship (Phil Jackson, Cazzie Russell, Henry Bibby).
The Cavs become the first "rookie" franchise to win in its first season since the 2001-02 Dakota Wizards (not counting previous existence in other leagues, sorry all you IBA fans).
Marvin Phillips (OK) wins a championship after losing in the finals last season.

For all you ABA RimRockers fans, Brandon Dean now has a ring from the 2005 ABA championship and the 2008 CBA championship (and his teammate, Todd Day, could get a ring if Arkansas defeats Rochester in Sunday's PBL finals).

I'll come up with some more trivia later tonight or earlier tomorrow.

OH MAN......THat is about all I can think of right now.

Had to make a trip to Dallas and couldn't watch the Webcast or listen to the radio. DANG IT>

I am sure there will be some partying in Lawton tonight.

Congraduations to Minot, what a great season you had. You are a great team.

When are the CAVS due home?

Congrats Cavs! Great series. Imagine how good it would have been if they would have had GOOD refs in Lawton and Minot!!

OKCavs67...the team flies into DFW on Northwest 1020 at 10:00 PM tomorrow night and then drives home. They probably won't get to Lawton until 2:00 AM or later!

To win it the first year in existence is setting the bar pretty high! I hope next year can match the excitement. I'm ready to buy my season tickets now!

Congrats to the Cavs! (and also to Ronnie Fields and the Rockets. They played well all year.)

Congrats to Shawn Daniels, who has two CBA championship rings (one with the 2001-02 Dakota Wizards) and at least one USBL ring. As much as I wanted Kevin Rice and the Skyrockets to take it for North Dakota, I guess I'm glad the Cavs were the team to beat them. Shawn had an awesome game and I'm giving him the most credit for this victory. He did so much work in the 4th quarter to put the game out of reach. He was always a fan favorite in Bismarck and he improved his game every season. A much deserved championship for a very deserving player!!!

I want to add my congrats to the Skyrockets and their fans for a great season, while I know it ended in disappointment. I also want to congratulate Cavs fans on winning the title. It was a great series.

Shawn Daniels probably had his second best game as a Cav. His best was Game 2 of the playoffs in Yakama. I guess Shawn is a big game player. He used his two best efforts to clinch the conference championship and the Finals!

Here's another tidbit.

In the final game, the Skyrockets' 76 points are the fewest scored in a CBA finals game in over 50 years; on April 3, 1955, the Wilkes-Barre Barons only scored 65 points in an 81-65 loss to the Hazleton (Pa.) Hawks (Wilkes-Barre would eventually win the series, though...)

That's what was so exciting about the Finals. DEFENSE was the name of the game. The games really showed how the teams changed their defense against each others offensive changes.

Exactly! It was interesting to see how Micheal Ray Richardson benched his defensive player of the year, Marvin Phillips, to start another guard in an effort to limit Ronnie Fields in game 3. It worked like a charm. They tried again in Game 4, but Minot adjusted and didn't run the offense though him as much and several other players killed the Cavs inside the paint. In Game 5, they went back to Marvin Phillips and they had what was probably their best defensive effort all year.

If this was a best of 7, they'd probably continue trading victories!

OH! 2 more games? And a person didn't think the finals could get any better! We can only imagine what two more games would turn out to be!

..don't forget the Cavalry won three out of road on the road, against the two best teams in the CBA. Pretty amazing for a team who actually had their franchise-folding press conference scheduled. Love him or hate him, Micheal Ray's sticking up for the team to get them meal money and hanging with his players gave them a bond nobody could break.

Great games and big crowds. It was a great week for the CBA.

MRR has become the first man to win a CBA Championship as a player and a coach. Tulsa Fastbreaks 1989 and Lawton/Ft Sill Cavalry 2008. (Both teams in Oklahoma, WOW)

Second. Henry Bibby was a player for Lancaster in 1982 and a coach for Tulsa in 1991.
