six hours 'til game time. they opened-up the box office at ''The Launchpad'' at 10am this morning and i'm told they've had some activity down there. RiceWeb is right about the Auditoriums capacity.... and TJ at the MDN wasn't too far off with the ''near capacity'' take. you couldn't get a whole lot more people in there than they did last night (given the configuration). i wouldn't be surprised a bit if they're able to announce over 3,000 tonight. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- this is crazy, as a kid growing up i closely followed from afar many of the ''non-major'' sports leagues, the WFL, the USFL, and especially the CBA. the CBA has always had the coolest logos and i thought i was darn studly spending my allowance on mail order mesh CBA caps (i liked the Catbirds). when the CBA held a six-team pre-playoff tourney in Bismarck ND in the mid-90s i thought i'd died and gone to heaven. i could've never fathomed that minot would ever end up with a CBA team or even an IBA caliber team. now Minot is a game away from holding the CBA title. like i say, its crazy.... its a pretty special day for a sports kid/fan that grew-up over 500 miles from the nearest major sports franchise (twins, vikes, broncos). even had to resort to watching the CFL on cable 'cause the Saskatchewan Roughriders were somewhat nearby and ''accessible''. anyways, i really hope its just a bit cleaner game tonight and that one team proves to be more deserving by playing nearly error free and shooting well. i'm a purest i guess. i don't like the rough and sloppy stuff (no jokes please). i'm not even going to make a prediction - both teams are deserving. the only difference i see is that MRR could actually LOSE the game for the Cav while Daleo won't make that mistake. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- i've kind of been a fan of MRRs and have stuck up for him locally you might say but last night i lost most respect for the guy. he was pulling some really unclassy garbage - towards the refs, the minot dance team, the fans, you name it. he doesn't represent the league very well i must say now..... and in observing the Cavs owners and Mr. Birdsong last night, i'm not so sure they wouldn't agree with me. i hope good solid basketball is the show tonight and not MRR. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ what the hell, i lied i guess..... CBA Title goes to Minot tonight, 98 - 94. they seemed to have awakened last night and they just go a little deeper offensively i think. oh yeah, they're on their home court too. should be fun. i wish y'all could be here!! - Cazzzmo
