It is a young roster with only one guy with affiliated experience...Nick Moran played at the A-level for four years.

Of course, there are some spring training cuts and maybe a surprise or two at the tryouts in a week.

The good news, at least in my book, is that I see 9 guys who played for the Sox last year plus the two guys from St. George so at least there is some continuity. Hopefully there are some positive changes in the pitching area!

DJ Dixon (Dorian), he was with the San Francisco Giants through Rookie and A ball. He played with Chris George (05-06 Surf Dawgs) in the Giants organization, as well as quite a few other friends/students of mine (Jesse English - LHP, Jerimiah Luster - OF, etc).

He's a great find, because he's not only a catcher, but has the ability to play just about any corner position on the field.

Thanks, Monty. Good find. I cheated a little and just went with what the Sox webpage said for highest level of experience rather than baseball cubing each guy so thanks for the info!

Once we get into the season and I fire up the blog, I'll make sure I get back to the high level of jounalistic integrity one should expect!

Actually, I just posted the link so you didn't have to take me at just my word. I've known DJ since he was a little tyke. I've played ball with his dad and then with him, as he approached the age to play with the big boys. Good kid and a GREAT baseball family...

Take a look at the St George roster, they're Loaded!!!!!

Now with the siging of Major Leaguer Wiki Gonzalez I would say on paper they are favored to win the GBL!!. Big League experience, extensive AAA experience.

It is nice to be back in St. George and getting everything updated for the upcoming season.

The addition of Wiki will help our pitching staff and our second catcher, Dustin Hicks, tremendously. Remember, not everyone on the roster will make the team, but I certainly like the looks of this year's squad.
