With the Deflated VIII scheduled to start tonight (but with no matchups listed on the Kebs' Great VIII site or on abalive.com), I thought it'd be a good idea to start a thread for game results and such... since they won't be found anywhere else... :)
According to a Vermont press release, Vermont plays San Francisco tonight at 5pm EDT.

Sadly, this thread will contain more coverage than the league website...
and frankly, more than any of the local media for the teams involved, aside from Vermont and Manchester.
If neither of those teams make the finals, the game may as well be played at an undisclosed location. The only coverage the league will receive in that case will come from this damned OSC...

According to what was discussed on the All-Star Game webcast and what the original schedule was, tonight's games are scheduled to be Vermont-San Francsico and Texas-Quebec. Tomorrow night's games are scheduled to be Manchester-Montreal and San Diego-Atlanta. Each night's winners play each other on Saturday.
Of course, this is the ABA, so the schedule is subject to change.
At least all of the games will be webcast via PlayOn Sports (via the Quebec website), so we can spot any unusual activity that may occur (such as a basketball game being played).

Apparently their is some problem getting the broadcast out of the arena. Don't ask I don't know. The Radio broadcast is going and the game is being taped for archive. Its a little disappointing. Frost Heaves up by 16 at the half 57-41. Dwayne Lee is back in the lineup and playing very well. Thank god.

I guess Manchester has already written the Frost Heaves off..
From a Millrats press release...
"The first game on Saturday will see a rematch of last year's ABA Championship Game between Vermont and Texas. Texas is still sour after being blown out by 48 points in the final. Both teams have somewhat different rosters, but the nucleus of each remembers what happened. Plus Vermont has lost two key players for the season including leading scorer Terrence Green, so look for the hyper-athletic and hungry Texas Tycoons to advance to this year's Final on Sunday."

as of 5:15 today, there is no coverage at all on the league website regarding the league post-season, save for the scores posted in the top right corner. They did post the Montreal/Jersey score, so that's a plus. But, there is still no acknowledgement of any 'play-in' games that may or may not have taken place on the west coast.
Oh, Joe's scintillating 'I Ask Me' segment is there talking about WHY they planned them, but nothing about the games that WERE actually played.
Also, maybe a bracket, or a prominently displayed - and league provided - schedule of games would be nice. You know, instead of the houseboat, the TV games that will begin 3 months ago, the TV games on a Chinese affiliated television something or other, the ad for PlayON (ADOTS), the ABA Travel drivel, the breaking news about the new ABA entertainment division (that seemed to work out well this year, no?), etc.
Sorry, I guess my idea for an informational website and Joe's are too radically different. My bad...
