After watching the last two finals games, I would say we are being treated to what is turning out to be a fantastic series. I have heard numerous complaints about the officiating on Monday night. Remember we are all in the minor leagues and trying to get better. It sometimes seems as though we all forget that, and expect the ref's to be mistake free. If they were mistake free they would not be in the minor leagues. Remember an old basketball saying, a good officiating crew does not dominate the game they let the players decide the game. OKC fans you may have a legitimate grip but do not let that us against the ref's mentality filter down to your players,it will only make them antagonistic towards the ref's and they need to be focused on the task at hand. This is a great chess match we are watching between two passionate coaches. "Sugar" we are fighting on sight if I ever see you leave the inbounder uncovered like that again, who just happens to be the fifth leading scorer in CBA history (smile). In all seriousness Mike and Chris are in a dogfight and it is great for us all to watch.

P.S. K. Rice whose team were you playing for the other night w/ that late game pass. You are the recipient of the "Bic/Gillette Point Shaving Play Of The Day" (just kidding Truax). Ronnie, great shot, but I have a question. I know I did not see you sulking during that game. you are the leader brother and to good of a player for that. Expect a phone call today.

..the name was Oklahoma, but they aren't OKC, which is an abbreviation for Oklahoma City. As of the playoffs, the official name is the Lawton-Fort Sill Cavalry, not the Oklahoma Cavalry.
It seems like as fumbled as the birth of this franchise was in Oklahoma City, it has all worked out for the best. The team got a new home in a non-NBA market, and eventually got new owners that are building the team and have a strong commitment to making it work in Lawton.

With the CAVS being in the finals in their first year it should only help team for next year and beyond.
Changing of the name also helps out. We are in Oklahoma but without doing research, one had a hard time knowing that the team is based in Lawton.
This gives the city and team a connection that is needed.
It also gives some distance between the old owner and the new owners.
Hopefully within 5-6 years we will be playing in a new arena and have a good solid core of fans. We are getting there.
If this series goes to five games, look out. Could go down as one of the best ever championship series ever.
GO CAVS!!!!!

A lot of people in the Lawton area still have no clue who the Cavs are or where they play.
I told my daughter's softball coaches that we needed to leave practice early to make it to the last Cavalry game and one said "You're going to Oklahoma City tonight?"
I told her they play in Lawton. She then asked how often they play in other cities besides OKC. She was under the impression that they were an Oklahoma City team that played a few games down here.
I told her the team even changed their name to Lawton-Ft. Sill and she said she'd heard that, but thought it was a joke.
We'll get these people educated eventually ...

I told a friend at work about them and he finally broke down and went to the playoff game vs. Yakama.
He took a friend with him. He got hooked. He asked me about season tickets for next year. And now he is telling everyone he knows about it. He called it exciting entertainment.
One game away from a Championship!!!!!!!!
