Grizzlies 22 vs Roughnecks 17;
What I dont get is how can this team win without scoring a single points in teh second half? Are the Roughnecks that bad, I know their QB was out, but wow. Good luck to Odessa as they go to anchorage this Thursday

They beat one of the best teams in the sport, too. Shorthanded or not, the Grizzlies have come a FAR FAR FAR FAR FAR ways in just two games.

Good win for the Grizzlies, like Josh said. Odessa and Rock River both should've done better this weekend, no matter who was at QB. The fact they didn't speaks volumes on those two teams.

From watching the Odessa game I saw a back-up QB that just didn't get it done. He was just bad. The rest of the team looked good. The defense played well, the o-line protected. When your back-up plays that bad I
don' tknow how you can win. Either they get their starter back or sign a new QB and they will still be good.

Sounds like a excuse! Just give Fairbanks their credit for the win!!!

It is an excuse. It always sucks when your starter goes down or isn't available, but that's why you sign quality backups. You can't always get someone as good as your starter, but hey...deal with it.

Maybe Alaska it's just a bad place for the Odessa to play?
Last year they gave the Alaska Wild their first win and look now again against Fairbanks. The Roughnecks 0-2 when they visit the big state and they are playing the Wild on Sunday..., We'll see what happends.,

Oh and by the way I dont see anyone talking about Cen Tex too. Frisco has been barely surviving teams in the fourth quarter and finally caught up with them..,

In no way is my statement an excuse. Odessa did lose and that is an unchangeable fact. I am just saying that I don't expect long term ineffectiveness if the guy under center is better. I expect them to fix the QB situation and if they do that they will still be very good.

I hear what you're saying, Permianman. If Odessa wants to beat Alaska, they're going to have to get a good replacement in there for Gile. Alaska is not a team to be overlooked, even moreso than Fairbanks at this point.

By the way, according to the transactions, Gile hasn't been placed on the IR as of yet. Was he injured on Saturday or just hurt? Will he be playing Thursday or not?

Sounds good. Hopefully you get Gile back.

I have received confirmation that Gile will not be playing in Anchorage. The Roughnecks do have a replacement starter en route to Anchorage as we speak to cover for Gile while he is out. The game, for whatever reason, has been postponed until Sunday. So, hopefully that gives the team enough time to gel somewhat with the new quarterback before the game.

My prayers go out to Gile. I hate it when stuff like this happens to these guys. They do not know at this point when/if he will be back this season. Hopefully this doesn't turn out to be a career ending injury.

Grizzlies,,,,,,,,can say 2 names,,,,,Go BO and John. This is what happens when you hire a Great Coach and bring in a quality QB, yea he did throw 3 int's but 2 of them were not his fault. But still in the books as 3 int's. Great game plan and ,,,,,,screw it. John is a great Coach and thats it. WTG Chad for pulling the trigger on this. Also there is ANOTHER IFL player MOVING up to the A2, this one from Katy. Will be making some news for this yr. Keep it up and keep feeding and developing ur players to play A2. More to come.

Game change due to building availability...

I understand that, Nut. However, and with all due respect, these dates were reserved and the schedule was made months in advance.

If the arena wasn't available for this coming Thursday, then that should have been mentioned way back when the dates were reserved by the AK Wild. On the other hand, if the AK Wild knew that there might be an issue with the arena being available on that date, then shame on them for scheduling the game on a night when availability wasn't a sure thing.

Whether it was the arena's error or AK Wild's error, this can't be good for the Alaska Wild.

Is there a deal in the IFL where players are taged for or franchise players and what kind of money do they get.

Most of the time the indoor football team gets bumped at the arena's whim, and the arena doesn't always give them all that much time when bumped.

I said it all offseason long that Chad needed to fire that youth football head coach.
Look what happened to all the hot head kids he signed.., most of them are gone including his son.., I am glad something was done about it and now Fairbanks can see the result. The good thing is that this team has a chance to be better than the Wild this year and actully earn a playoff spot..,
Oh and QB Bo Bartik won the IFL Week 4 Offensive player of the Week.

This will be week #10 for the Bossman as the HC in Fairbanks. 2 1/2 months to make some changes - to improve - to make progress. Having your star QB injured since before he even got there doesn't help but....goodness.

Most every article in the paper is talking about players doing dumb things, playing without heart, no ones job is safe, and so on. It is harder to get guys in then it used to be at this time of year because there a ton of leagues now but...instead of using a public forum to express your disapointment and anger towards "YOUR" players - use your anger to motivate you to work the phones day and night to do something about it. Instead of talking about it in the paper - let them see some horses arrive in Fairbanks! That sends a louder message.

Maybe the is a respect issue - where not only are they competing against other teams but also their coach. Hope I am wrong
