Just saw this.

I had the Raptors ranked fourth in my personal CIFL Rankings, behind Rochester, Kalamazoo, and Chicago, but with Sankey back I'm moving them up to second (Raiders have too much talent to be anything but first).

Sankey, McArdle to return to Raptors

Ben Sankey, the UIF's leading passer a year ago, is on his way back to Rockford to help the Raptors adjust to the CIFL.

Wide receiver Luke McArdle is also rejoining the Raptors after recently being released by an arena football team in New Orleas.

Head coach Rik Richards said Wednesday that Sankey and McArdle are expected to be in Rockford by Thursday morning and can hopefully play in Friday's game against Muskeegon.

Richards also expects that both can contribute right away.

"I think that him (Sankey) and Luke can both be here tomorrow morning for our practice," Richards said. "I think we can get caught up to speed watching some film tomorrow night. I think we can hop on the bus Friday night and go beat the heck out of Muskeegon."

Richards said he hopes Sankey will be able to offer current Raptors quarterback Steve LaFalce some advice and get him ready to lead the Raptors in the post season.

By that time Sanky will have to report to camp for Canadian Football League, where he's signed a two year contract.

"He'll be with us long enough to groom this young man (LaFalce) and teach him what he can and can't do and that when the opposing team blitzes, we don't need to be a dear in headlights," Richards said. "We just check down and dump it off. And I think that he can be a calming presence and another coach on the field for us."

Richards is also well aware that Sankey and McArdle will have to get used to seven-on-seven football, but he doesn't think it will be too much of a problem for those two.

"There's a lot more space to work with. There's blitzes from everywhere, which is going to change things. The guy in motion is esentially the guy and if I can make Luke that guy, they'll have a field day. Those two guys have been on the same page for a long time now."

Sankey threw for close to 3,000 yards and 47 touchdowns last season.
McArdle caught 57 passes and 17 touchdowns.

Once Sankey leaves for the CIFL though, they're going back down to fourth.
