Here is what I have gathered as far as teams returning/being added for the 2008-2009 season:
ALBANY - Will be back
SOURCE: Season ticket packages on sale. 2008-2009 Season Ticket Packages - 18 Home Games. For more information, call the Armory Box Officeat 518-694-7160 ext 26 (Patroons website)
ATLANTA - Not sure
SOURCE: No mention of season ticket sales for next year. Little to no local coverage makes it hard to know what is happening in the front office.
BUTTE - To be determined
The CBA contest had one of its better crowds for a Sunday game. “We’re excited about the fans,” Daredevils executive Joe Clark said after the game. “The support has been excellent. Season ticket holders already want more tickets.” Even with a solid group of fans, Clark said that the organization needs to somehow bring in more people in order to support the team. “We just need more attendance,” he said. The team’s future in Butte will be decided in the next two months. Clark said that the Daredevils plan to square things away in the next 60 days.

EAST KENTUCKY - Will be back
SOURCE: Need a solid affirmation, but all indications are the first season went well
GREAT FALLS - Up in the air
In the news release announcing the suspension of operations,
(Michael) Tuckman praised the fans and the community and said he wanted to reach out to them. "My top priority is to reconnect with the Great Falls community," he wrote. "This is a good market for the CBA, a tight-knit community with very knowledgeable basketball fans. It has been my pleasure to get to know several members of the community and call them close friends. I think I was perceived as an outsider and because I got started so late in the year — I bought the team the day before the season started — it was an uphill battle."
One could infer the team is still in existence, at least on paper. Look for a decision in the next 60-90 days.

MINOT - Will be back
SOURCE: They have signed a lease for the upcoming season.
Chris Lindbo, President of the Minot CBA Investment Group, LLC, signed the new 24-game lease with the Minot Municipal Auditorium. "Not only have we signed on for the 2008-09 season, but we are also on the list to host the 2009-10 All-Star Game. We plan on being in Minot for years to come and look forward to continuing our relationship with the Auditorium. Scott Collins has worked with us in every aspect during this transition period, and we are very excited to be playing here." The new arena lease involves 24 more home games for the Skyrockets to play at the Minot Municipal Auditorium, starting in November 2008. "Having the Skyrockets here is great. It keeps the building and the staff busy and is great income for the city. It is also great entertainment for the community and a great draw for the city, so we are excited both personally and professionally to have the new ownership renew the lease," said Scott Collins, Auditorium/Recreation Manager.

YAKAMA, Wash. - The Rio Grande Valley Silverados lost 126-96 to the Yakama Sun Kings to conclude their inaugural season. "It was what it was," Silverados coach Derrick Rowland said. "We didn't play great and we still won two quarter points. It was a good game until the fourth quarter." Jason Forte led the Silverados with 23 points, eight rebounds, and seven assists. Gordon Klaiber contributed 21 points, and Trent Eager added 19 points and seven rebounds. "We are coming back tomorrow, and getting back to work first thing Tuesday morning for next season," Rowland said.

YAKAMA - Likely
YAKIMA -- Looking forward, changes are in store for the Sun Kings -- if they return, which Coach Paul Woolpert expects. "As far as I know, the Yakama Nation has a minimum one more year of commitment," Woolpert said, alluding to the tribe's three-year promise to operate the team, which came after the 2005-06 season, their first as owners. Ralph Sampson Jr., a member of the Tribal Council, did not return a phone message seeking comment about the tribe's plans for the team. Within the organization, one change is assured -- Woolpert, if he returns, will not carry the dual titles of head coach and general manager.

EXPANSION/INACTIVE TEAMS
In a January 35th interview with KXMC-TV (Minot), CBA President Ricardo Richardson had the following quote: Very excited about the league and it's prospects. Again the league is the oldest professional league in the world, established in 1946. We've done a lot of good things traditionally but as of the last 3 or 4 years we're focusing on marketing and branding outside of the lines. Outside the lines, I mean off the Basketball floor. So what we do in the community throughout the CBA cities is very important and integral for the success of the teams in those areas but also the success of the CBA long term. Richardson says the league has an aggressive growth plan for the next 2 to 5 years that includes international play. We're expanding, we're working with two to four groups for next season, qualifying them in the United States, we're working with two or three Mexico teams to be in the Mexico league for next year. We'd like to cap it over the next five to six years at 30 teams. We won't get a lot of that in the United States but outside of the U.S. maybe 10 teams in Mexico, 10 in Canada as well as 10 in the Caribbean.
