I was told the games were played and was given the winners of Saturday's games, but we never received any scores.

The building the Buzz play in is not far from my house, and I was able to walk right in in the second quarter. The Breakers beat the Buzz 120-102, I believe. There were maybe 200 people watching the game.

I went down there with the idea of buying tickets to Sunday's game, but when there was no one at the door selling tickets or even just taking money for admission, I just walked in and watched the last three quarters of the game.

A team that hasn't played in over a month won? Wow.........

OK - let's look at the lunacy here.......

The league has, essentially, begun its post-season, albeit with only one of three 'mini-tounaments' allegedly taking place.

I say allegedly because as of 5:00 EDT today - the day AFTER the games were to be complete, there is no information listed on the league website.

They lead story on ABAlive, you ask?

ABA TO RETURN TO HOLLYWOOD NEXT SEASON

It sums up Joe's sorry excuse for any sort of professional leadership to a T - this season has been another unmitigated disaster, so I'll look toward the next flock of woefully underfinanced sheep to enter the slaughterhouse.

What's next? Posting Connie's favorite brownie recipes as the lead story during the Great 8?

No results from the weekend mini-tourney - the one they hosted - but hey, we have news:

Maywood Buzz To Host Men's Open Basketball Tournament In May
03/17/08 - American Basketball Association (ABA) Maywood Buzz

Maywood, CA. The ABA Maywood Buzz will be hosting an Open Men's Basketball Tournament, May 23-26, in Maywood, California. The tournament will be held at the Maywood Activity Center, 4801 East 58th Street, Maywood, CA 90270. Maywood is located about 15 minutes southeast of downtown Los Angeles.
The entry fee will be $450 per team and first place will be at least $3000. NBA rules will be used, Pro-Am Officials, semi-stop clock (all free throws and last two minutes of the fourth period).

"We will be taking the first sixteen teams to enter and maybe more depending upon the response from teams wanting to participate," stated Buzz GM Burrel Lee III. "We will be giving every player and coach official tournament t-shirts; we will provide game balls and balls for pre-game warm-ups."

If you are interested in playing in this event as a team or individual, please call 310 493 4361, email buzzbasketball@gmail.com or visit www.buzzbasketball.com. Or visit www.abalive.com.

There is also a note on their website that the Buzz will have tryout camps, beginning May 17.

So, we'll assume that their season is done - although the games were apparently played in a vacuum...
