Not sure if anyone has heard (just kidding psbf) but Pittsburgh is slated to host next year's All-star game. It is no secret the Xplosion has been facing some attendance issues.

Given a possible league merger, the poor attendance of the X this season despite fielding a quality playoff team, and the league's preference to have over 1000 attend the All-Star showcase... in your opinion will the city of Pittsburgh will be the host city for next years all-star game?

Please feel free to post your thoughts!

On this past January 22, the high temperature in McAllen was 76 degrees.

Just sayin'....

..getting over 3,000 despite regular attendance of about 1,000.

Getting buzz in cities the size of Pittsburgh and Atlanta is hard though. Even the CBA All-Stars aren't going to turn the crank too hard in a "major league" city.

RGV? Bring it on. I think they could sell the place out easily, and I think next season will be a lot better for the Silverados on the court.

I think the Siverados will be allright, lots of players who live in TX.

I have to agree, Panchess. If anyone remember's they had a sell-out in their opener(or close to it), before they began so badly. But if the Silverados continue next year like they left off this past season, I think they will get their supporters back. But they need to sign as many returnees as possible and keep them healthy. But they are looking good(imo).

PSBF how many times do you have to be reminded. Teams dont re sign players. The minute the playoff's end The X have 0 players. As does everyone else. You cant build a foundation with players . You do it with good coaches and a positive enviroment. IE. Nice living conditions, pay on time. How many guys played in the CBa in 06/07 and 07/08 Just a few.
The guys who are decent go make real$$$ money. Australia/Nz is becoming a good spot. Degroat doesnt want to be in Pitt, he wants an opportunity to be seen and sign a nice 6 figure contract somewhere in the world.

I think if RGV can prove to have some relative stability (which at this point isn't terribly difficult), it will be an attractive option for free agents.

I don't know where you get your info, Kings. Maybe you're too busy assuming. I read an article in the P-G that John DeGroat was quoted as saying that he enjoys playing here and he loves playing with the Xplosion. So get over your negativity about us.

PSBF, I didnt say he didnt like it , do you think he will turn down a significant raise to come back next year? Negativity? It's not the x. The Sunkings are going for their 3rd straight championship. And have only one guy who has been here for 3 yrs. They all want better for themselves as we all do. The Cba isnt a place to build a nestegg for the future. PBSF you are so naive, of course he said that, and I am sure he does enjoy it. That doesnt change one thing about what I posted.

Fair enough, Kings. I know that good players will go elsewhere in time. That's hard on the fans, but it's also a credit to the organization that the athlete departed from as was the case with Antonio Graves who is now in France.
