announced crowd of 600+/-... perhaps closer to 350 after the Steelers left... SHAME on Big Ben for not signing autos afterwards but THANKS to the other 10 Steelers (HOF Blount included) that stayed close to 45 minutes signing for anyone wanting autographs.... tickets were $12.50... and can move down to sit front row...again the Miners helped the #'s..i'd say crowd was 65-35 for the X. it was a long 5 hour+ drive home after the loss... Congrats to the X and Coach Knox.... but shame on their classless assistant coach for his after-game antics.

Thanks again to all the Miners fans for the great road support and to the players that made this season very special for me personally... The management of the Miners allowed me to be closer to the game and team than I expected. It was a GREAT inaugual season and I thank you for bringing pro ball to Eastern Kentucky.

My cousin and my Aunt are Steelers fans and my Aunt said that she can't understand why the X don't get more support. What I don't understand is why they don't seem to have any stationery. They never mail me tickets I always have to pick them up. I think they shoud start advertising for next season with promotions from this season. Whatever they did to get the record crowd, they need to get back to that(imo).

The Peterson ticket office didnt even realize they were selling X tickets... they told me over the phone they only sell Univ of Pitt events. I had to educate the woman answering the Petersen events center ticket office that they were selling tickets for X home games and the steelers exhibiton.. not a good sign from a visiting Miners fan making a road trip for a playoff game...

if the X front office doesn't make chanes to affect knowledge of the team within the city, there will be no future...a week earlier the steelers drew 1500+ at a high school gym with only 650 at the Pete (approx 150 Miners fans).. the parking is horrible at the venue...

I'm curious,, ot, what 'antics' you were referring to when you mentioned about the X assistant? I was near the court and I only saw the Miners walking off and later the X huddled at center court. Maybe you saw me at games end, standing and cheering our win and facing you and your supporters?
ok, now, as far as the tickets, that would explain why the X have to move their games in favor of the host Panthers. I would hope that the Univ. of Pitt would like to help the X(considering we had graduates on the team), but apparently not. I also agree with the parking problems. But consider they get double digit attendence for Panthers games so I guess they used a parking garage(they must park somewhere!). I never used the garage, I park at the bottom of the hill along the street.
They promoted the game when they had the record attendence, yet they also promoted this and you saw the results. I read press releases of other teams with promotion gifts from sponsors, which I think would help the X.
Fans are not just there for the game, they need other entertainment! The Miners have talent contests at halftime. The X should go back to when they had Basketball scrimmages at halftime, to start with.

it just occurred to me, ot. Why would you contact the Panthers ticket office when the X have the number on their website. Even a link to Ticketmaster, which is under the link for 'tickets'. I always have someone to help me. If you had asked, I would have been happy to help you out, instead of going it by yourself! Fans just claim to come up without even bothering to set up a meeting with me to actually meet!

I'll try to address all your questions. The asst. coach went into total spazz mode addressing some of the miners section at halfcourt screaming go home losers, using slurs, and apparently wanted someone to paste their lips to his backside (you can figure he must like butt kisses). You made your exit pretty fast as the 3 ladies with you left much later and I think they had to see this embarassing display. I figure it had to be u since no one else wore sweatshirt and hat with X logos.

I called the Pete center as they were the host site. That seems logical to me.

As fow why I didn't ask you, why would I as you are not employed by the X? One has to be careful meeting men on the road..lol....my wife might get the wrong idea.

ok, first. Yes, that was me. I left quck because I had to get my Jeep which was parked at the bottom of the hill. I dropped them off before I parked so they would not have to walk as far as I did. And the women with me were my Aunt, my cousin and my cousin's friend.
Next, how hard is it to ask me if I can help get you and your family tickets? I would have liked to have met you and your wife. I don't know how many came with you. But you seem to take things for granted rather than asking me is there another way to get Xplosion tickets? Well obviously Skippy you didnt realize some of this was "sarcasm". In the past PBSF asked nicely if all "sarcasm" could be accompanied by the appropriate icon. So you have alot to learn about PBSF. The fact that our favorite X fan had to suffer through this without the guidance of icons puts him in a very difficult positon. I am already checking greyhound bus schedules to Minot ,in case (god forbid ) Minot wins. In that case could you show me around? do you have an Applebees? Isnt General Custer state park in th area?
