GO MINERS!!!
I was expecting our favorite Pitt Fan to show his face on the camera tonight or give an interview or something. I can tell you a few fans on the Johns Creek side of the county are cheering for our miners and hoping we can hang on!!

Pittsburgh wins 129-121. Miners go home. Pittsburgh advances to the next round of the playoffs for the first time since 1995. Can the Xplosion become the first Pennsylvania franchise to win a CBA championship in 25 years? We'll see...

:( Oh well, we'll get 'em next year! I'll be cheering for my home team, the Skyrockets now. But congrats to the X.

When does the series start for the X vs Skyrockets?
I was trying to help promote the X and it landed me a fever which is why I've not been on. But I went tonight and brought some family and friends with me.
Steelers lost to the All-Stars 97-91 in the exhibition and Big Ben played. Former Xplosion Armon Gilliaam lead the All-Stars.
As for the X game, it began frustrating, hearing so many Miners fans behind us. As always, their team hung tough and they have nothing to be ashamed of. I told you we are a second half team.
As for our series with Minot, nothing determined yet.
YEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS SSSSS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Final Xplosion 129, Miners 121

I will now be rooting for the X against Minot. Now that I know what kind of a person Daleo is, I don't want to see him rewarded in any way
I don't blame you, as far as Daleo, FO.
As far as the league format, what are you kidding me?? If the Miners had won they would be hosting the first game. The Xplosion won so we have to travel to Minot for two games and only come here if neccesary for a third??
We have not won in Mont this year so how is that fair?

the xplosion have to travel to minot first because they cannot get a venue this week. not the league's fault
but the league did create that stupid, meaningless game that was just played. over 3 full games lead, and guess what? the xplosion won. weird. they've been the better team all year. now that the play-in game is out of the way, the playoffs can start as they should've tonight. pittsburgh vs minot. poetic justice
That's true, boom. I was surprised when I originally saw that. But the X never won on the road until taking 2 of 3 in Albany earlier this season, so no reason we can't get our first win in Minot, although it will be tough.
I can't believe that our venues, or at least Pitt, can't be accomodating for one playoff game!

Yeah, I guess the primary tenants in your two venues would be more concerned about things like the Stanley Cup playoffs and the NCAA tournament than the CBA playoffs... :)
Seriously, the X need to move out of those caverns next year and find another building of their own. Is there not a place that can be renovated, like an armory, a convention/convocation center or a smaller college's gymnasium (i.e., Duquesne, Robert Morris, etc.) in the entire Steel City or in Allegany County that would be more accommodating to the Xplos?!?

Did I miss something? He was happy the new Minot owners were going to save $18,000 and get more sleep by playing Pittsburgh instead of EK, so if anybody should be mad at Daleo, it should be the Miners fans.
I agree with Chuck. The X's venue problems are an issue (something like six of their home games had to be rescheduled due to various events, which kills attendance), and the places are too big to begin with. Didn't the first Pittsburgh team in the CBA play at Duquesne?
What I can't figure out is, if the Pete is booked on one date, surely it should bo ok for the other.
As far as our venues, the X have a contract to play at either one, which expires afte ne xt season. There is another building, which is about 20 minutes from me that is not being used, an old arena. I have mentioned this to the Xplosion but have not heard back.
As far as A.J. Palumbo Center on the campus of Duquesne University, the Piranhas played there in 1995 and were on radio at the time. I got so interested in listening that I got hooked and started going halfway thru the season. The crowds began building especially in the playoffs and nearly sold the place out in the finals.
When the Xplosion began, Palumbo was not available so they had to take the bigger venues. I'm curious to learn what will happen when the lease expires. Of course, we will be hosting the All-Star next season, so hopefully our crowds will get bigger.

The miners came up short last night, but I applaud them for a great first season. Their play last night was typical for what I saw most of the season...a second half let-down, although the run that the X put on before the end of the first half was very impressive. My hat is off to the X...they are a well-disciplined team who should do well in the playoffs.
The Miners should only get better going forward. I just hope that we can keep the team together through the off-season.
Guy, I appreciate your kind words. The Miners did well to get as far as they did for a first year team and coach Kevin Keathley is a good coach, one of the best(imo). The Miners have a good loyal fan base.
Yes, the offseason is the hardest. Hopefully the Miners will retain as many as they can and return to the playoffs next season which is always a tough feat. But my congrats to your team and fans for making it this far. Losing is always tough, but you had a great season.
As for the Xplosion, head coach Carlos Knox has taught the X that when we get a lead hold it which is why we are a good second half team.

I imagine not great or we would have heard about it. Ask the EK guys.
To be honest, I did not have a real good look at it. We were seated down near the court. as opposed to to wear I usually sit near the entrance. But I will post pictures.

Psbf never posts a direct link for some reason. Keep in mind that everyone there is behind psbf.
And the boxscore reports an attendance of 606.

"Shots of the crowd", but I couldn't see crowds.
How many were actually there? It only looked like a couple hundred...

It was a fun game to watch...the refs were equally bad as both teams had horrible calls against them.. In the end the Miners were undone by some untimely outside/pull-up jumpers that went away from their 1st quarter penetration/slashing scoring plays. I had felt a win coming up with the early 17 point lead, but the X played themselves back into the game and avoided losing Albert White to fouls as he played the last 8+ minutes of the 4th without getting #6 called against him. Congrats to the X for the come from behind win..... It is horrible that they can only have 650 on a night with Steelers in attendance also... even more disturbing (imo) for the X is that almost half left before the CBA game started leaving the crowd almost 50/50 split. It is hard to believe the league won't move the all-star game to an arena that will draw more fans regarless of Pitt having an anniversary next year. It is clear the city isn't supporting a quality playoff team and there is no reason to expect it to change in the off-season either. Perhaps an all-star game host city change is the direction to go...

I had a couple of personal experiences with him this season and he proved to me that he is not a quality individual. I'm sure others may have had good or different experiences but his condescending, demeaning and flat out poor attitude have completely turn me off. Imagine someone coming into your house and talking bad about your entire family, your friends and your community in front of you with no regard. Well, that's what he did. I'll never look at him as a person of character.
