Micheal Ray on the Cavs' pre-game said the "Patroons were a joke," with six players, no coach and a weak record.

Though I can't blame him much, the Cavs announcer has said "we're a great ball club" and "we're going to dominate" 20 times already halfway through the first quarter...

Did Askew quit, or did he get fired?

We're the Patroons a joke? I don't know but all the guys on the team were super cool, they were helping me throw out t-shirts to the crowd during the timeouts, gotta love that

Jason Williams of the Patroons helped throw shirts out to the crowd. Our own players don't even get involved in that! When a contestant's half court shot was falling way short, Williams ran out with his arms out like a hoop and moved to where the shot would go through his arms. Then he went to the contestant to high 5 him. This was the game Saturday when they were down by 30+. Other players might have been down or mad, but he looked like he was having fun. I like his attitude.

Today, he was on fire and scored 31. The Patroons tied the Cavs in the first half, but couldn't keep up in the second half. They played with 6 yesterday, but only 5 suited up today. They hit 19 3 pointers. 20 was the most 3's all season.

No, you are right, the Patroons are not a joke, the team players, the armory, the history, the people who work hard or the almost 25,000 people that plunked down cash to watch them this year (and win 11 home games). My guess, if Askew was not there, is that he pulled the old "you can't fire me, I quit" stunt. Why fly back to Albany in March to get that news? We'll find out tomorrow or a week from now, certainly not in the local newspaper....

..I don't think anyway. The players who went to Oklahoma did their best, and on Sunday at least, played a competitive game.

Sending six players without a coach to a league game was bush-league, regardless if Atlanta did it in Albany or we did it in Oklahoma. Micheal Ray might have been a bit overboard (a big surprise, I am sure), but he was basically right.

I agree with Panchess. The players there did their best to represent their team, the organization let them down by not sending them any help.

Even through the toughest week of the season;when it looked like the Cavalry would fold, they managed to have a coach -and usually an assistant too.
