With the year winding down, I was looking at the stats from the season and a few things jumped out at me. So here's my best Chuck the Writer impression:

Only three players will finish the season averaging a double double:
James Jackson, EK: 20.9ppg, 10.1rpg
Steve Thomas, EK: 14.0ppg, 11.4rpg
Marvin Phillips, OK: 12.5ppg, 10.2rpg

Only one player scored 1,000 points this year (so far):
Josh Pace, EK: 1,035
(Nat Burton, ALB - 899; Ronnie Fields, MIN - 866; Daryan Selvy, OK - 860 all have two games remaining)

Moochie Norris' assist per game average is nearly a full 3 assists higher than the next player:
Moochie Norris, YAK: 9.0 (Aaron Cook, BUT: 6.4)

Players with 500 points, 200 rebs, 100 assists
Martane Freeman, BUT: 662 points, 245 rebounds, 100 assists (39 games)
Jason Williams, ALB: 503 points, 238 rebounds, 104 assists (41 games)
Josh Pace, EK: 1,035 points, 318 rebounds, 199 assists (45 games)
Daryan Selvy, OK: 860 points, 244 rebounds, 141 assists (38 games)
Curtis Haywood, OK: 687 points, 252 rebounds, 136 assists (39 games)
Tim Ellis, YAK: 566 points, 207 rebounds, 129 assists (41 games)

These players had equivalent stats:
Ronnie Fields, MIN: 886 points, 182 rebounds, 206 assists
Moochie Norris, YAK: 407 points, 194 rebounds, 323 assists

Teams were only able to hold home court 60% of the time

Yakama and Minot have the best home record (20-2)
Yakama has the best road record (21-3)
Atlanta and Great Falls tie for the worst home record (6-18)
Atlanta has the worst road record (4-20)

I'm sure there's plenty more nuggets in there, but this is the stuff that caught my eye.

from a #'s perspective, it is hard to argue against Josh Pace as CBA player of the year.

Ot, you are leaving out those deserved from the Xplosion, which is not right(imo). The Miners are deserved, but so are the X.

I'm not reading anything into it, FO. Your list did not have anyone from the X on it, Chuck's did which is why I like his list.

..if for no other reason then he had to coach half the season too in Butte as well as play. How come Pittsburgh got rid of him anyway?

He wouldn't be coach of the year, but no coach showed better the value of coaching in the CBA than Patrick O'Herron of Butte. The team disintegrated quickly without him, and it's hard to remember Butte had a winning record before he left.

I wonder if Pace will be in the NBA D-League next season or Europe. He is one of those lanky small forwards types that might not fit in the NBA, but I could see him catching on in Europe.

PSBF, first of all OT never had a list. Chuck did, and so did I... we both included Pitt players so I have no idea what you're talking about. Also, I can't believe you would throw out an entire postseason list because you're favorite team didn't get someone added. That's childish

Secondly, there is a checkbox next to each message. Click those which you want to delete. There is an options box on the bottom right of your inbox where you can select several options. Choose 'delete' then press Go

Same could be said for Michael Ray Richardson. As crazy as he is, his team definitely played for him and he took the entire organization down during that little haitus midseason. I'd probably go with him as Coach of the Year.

Pace will have plenty of opportunities next year. I think alot of it hinges on if he gets a chance to play in an NBA Summer League. He's just one of those players that finds a way. He gets knocked for his lack of shooting touch but he's shooting 47% from 3 this year and 52% overall. Josh puts himself in positions to succeed. I hope he finds a lucrative deal overseas if he doesn't get an offer in the NBDL

FO Say what you want about MRR but Woolpert's squad sets records galore. That without any extrordinary players. No league MVP type, even a ? first team all league guys. I think you could pretty much fill in the second team with SunKings though. Anyway I kind of feel PBSF'ish for sticking up for mymy team. But I dont hate you for having an opinion.

Pace will definitly be playing for real$$$$ next year. Aussie is where last years league MVP is cashing checks this year.

players who are in the CBA aren't there because they didn't have offers from overseas teams that were more lucrative than the CBA. They were using it as a vehicle to be seen stateside rather than being away again (Pace in New Zealand and Finland), so they accepted lower pay and played here. No doubt some of those players will be in the DLeague next year, and hopefully some will have a chance to try out for the NBA. We all know that sometimes, due to politics, it is who you know and some of the players you have seen that may deserve to be in one of those leagues, may never get a chance.

It is my understanding, Panchess, that Bradley wanted to be traded back to Butte because he was unhappy here. This after him wanting to play here to be closer to his family. So why should we keep a player who does not want to be here. Whatever really happened, I'm no fan of his anymore.

..that's cool, I just forgot and didn't look it up. I can bet he never banked on coaching in Montana though.

Woolpert is setting records, he has to be Coach of the Year.

I would buy the new executives in Oklahoma winning that award though. They took a team literally ready to announce its folding and in fourth place with no coach and turned it into a CBA power with a bright future in the same season. The Cavs are like 20-5 under new management..

..Josh Pace and Gerry McNamara played together at Syracuse. McNamara wass considerably better in college, but Pace has managed his pro career far better than McNamara, who left two teams in Greece and ended up in Latvia after sitting most of this season..

i think a 60% clip on home court is pretty decent considering the state of some teams in this league and the revolving-door rosters throughout. homefield in the NFL only runs around 60% and i would think that other major sports are similiar.

I'm actually shocked it was that high considering Atlanta and GF

So Pace is on pace to be our rival, first with Syracuse(vs. Pitt) now with East Ky(vs. Xplosion). Now another reason I have to root against him:D
