This was posted on the MAHL website today.

Is anyone out willing to buy a team from this 'Used Team Salesman'?

I just finished reading a book about Charles Ponzi and his scheme in 1920. Compared to Haines, Ponzi's scheme was much more legit.

As seen on a late-night infomercial:
"The following program is a paid commercial advertisement and does not reflect the views of the staff and management of this station."
Host (a washed up celebrity): "Welcome to sports today. Today, our very special guest will show you how to make oodles and oodles of money in the world of pro sports franchises. He has operated two very, very successful leagues. Here he is, Mr. Andrew Haines."
AH: "Thank you Mr. (washed up celebrity). How much money do you need to own your very own sports team, millions, hundreds of millions? What if I told you you could own your own team with next to nothing. Impossible you say. You need to pay salaries, benefits, travel expenses, arena rent, office rent, utilities, taxes. With my system, I can show you how to own and operate your own professional sports franchise without any of those expenses.Let me show you how."
Announcer: "Do you wish you could own your own sports team. Let Andrew Haines show you how -- the MAHL-AIFL way. Just send 1,000 easy payments of $29.95 billed to your credit card to 1-800-xxx-xxxx. Operators are standing by. Now back to our show." .........

Haines must have a copy of the ABA's Keys to Success.

Haines must have a copy of the ABA's Keys to Success.

That would seem correct...From what I dug up, the MAHL intended to have 10 teams for 07-08.
Six teams attended the pre-season meetings, with one already opting to wait until the 08-09
season.

It will be interesting to see how many of the new expansion teams make it to
the ice in this league in 2008. Assuming this league is still around in November.

Also, how many of the current 5 teams would be foolish enough to return? It
could end up looking like the NEHL.

Word is that the MAHL has lost its lease in Jamestown, so don't count on everyone being back.

Admin,

I know you dont like the speculation and rumor things but here is my guess with a little info that could be proof.

Haines is part owner of FMG ( Andrew G. Haines - CEO/Co-Founder
ahaines@fmgcorporation.com
Mr. Haines has over 10 years experience as a sports/business entrepreneur. He has owned and operated several professional sports teams, including indoor football teams in two leagues and as owner/operator of the ABA basketball franchise in Washington, DC. He is founder of the Mid-Atlantic Hockey League (MAHL) and the American Indoor Football League (AIFL). Mr. Haines also owns and operates Biz Sellers Inc., AG Sports Management and various other diverse ventures. ) this from www.fmgcorporation.com

FMG Corporation signed a contract with Midwest training and Ice center in Dyer Indiana a Chicago Suburb (by the way the rink holds under 1000 people from what I understand) ( Facilities now under the FMG umbrella include: The David S. Palmer Arena, Danville, IL; Oaks Center Ice, Oaks, PA; United States Training Center (USTC), Downingtown, PA; The Rock Ice Pavilion, Dunellen, NJ; Lancaster Ice Rink, Lancaster, PA; and, Midwest Training & Ice Center, Dyer, IN.)

I am betting since they are looking for gm's coaches, etc in Indiana as well as other states this could be the big announcement.
