Looking at the final week's crucial games in the American Division;

Tues; Minot at Atlanta(not sure if this will be reversed or canceled)

Wed.; PGH. at Butte(9:05)

Thurs; E.K. at Minot(8:05)

Fri.; G.F. at Minot(ppd)

Sat.; G.F. at Minot(ppd)

Sun.; PGH at Butte(5:15)

PGH vs E.K. on the 11th or 13th details unclear at this point.
The X still have two games, to the Miners one.

I just heard back from the Xplosion. They expect an announcement from the league about the showdown in 2-3 days, but even that he was not sure on.

By as early as today or tomorrow, Albany can officially be eliminated from postseason contention

If that's the case then someone official should contact the X then, to let them know, so they can post it.

If Pittsburgh doesn't know whats going on then contacting them makes no difference. Have some faith in your organization and trust that they know things that aren't sent to them over emails by fans

I have a lot more faith in the Xplosion, than I do in the league at the moment.

..makes some sense to me. By the end of tomorrow night, the Patroons fate should be known one way or the other, so if that is the case, just announcing the playoff game with the opponent on the 11th (which is what I think will be announced) makes a lot of sense. The tricky part is that the winner hosts the first game of the series.

that I know for certain, about the 11th, is that the National Division will start their playoff series then.
I know that the X will host a doubleheader with the Steelers on that date also. But the opponent is up in the air as is our showdown date.

Dates are already reserved in Pikeville for a home playoff game should the Miners defeat Pitt, I would assume Pitt has made similar arrangements

Personally, I think that's taking a big risk. You are ASSUMING that you will beat us plus the Miners apparently took it upon themselves about the dates without checking officially first. They never checked with us to clear the date first. If we win then you will be in for a big let down.

This is not taking a big risk, this is being practical. If EK gets to host a playoff game of some type, it would be a really good idea to make sure there is a day when the arena can host it. I would expect all teams anticipating post season play would check with their arenas to see what dates the venue would be available.

I'm just saying that releasing the dates is a bit premature, for the Miners considering they have not played their final game yet. They should wait until the Showdown with us takes place. They should say that IF they get past us dates will be on such. The X don't even know the info, how would the Miners know? Why not wait until after tonight's game is played! We still have two more games to play(Butte). You still have to get by us and that is no sure thing!

God forbid you plan ahead so you are ready if you win.

but the sooner they can let the fans know when the "possible" games will be, the more time the fans have to plan to attend the game...

It's easy to say today, "We might play next Wednesday, mark your calendars!" (I'm making it up, but try to follow), and then on Monday say "Never mind, that game won't be taking place". This gives the fans a week or more to free up that date (if they can) and make what ever other arrangements they need if they want to go.

But to wait until Monday and say "Hey, we have a game in two days" makes it a lot more difficult for fans to make arrangements, change other plans, etc.

I would hope (and really expect) that the X staff would do something similar. It's all about getting the word out, and the more time you have to get the word out, the more likely you'll get more people to the game.

PSBF, you are really ignorant to the way things work. Why would the Miners have to check with the X about arranging a possible home playoff game in which the X won't be involved????

I think it's clear that you are the only one who is in the dark on things. Just because the X haven't personally informed you on their plans doesn't mean they don't have any. There is information to be had that isn't found in a press release

Hey PSBF, you may want to prepare for the Miners - considering they dropped 194 points on their last opponent. :)

FO, at least I don't make personal attacks(ignorant) like you.

Chuck, you are right, they are a good team. It's the fact that they have played and we were forced into inactivity is what scares me.

Not a personal attack, just an observation
