Very good game tonight. East Ky 120 Oklahoma 118. I was very impressed with how hard Oklahoma play after trailing in the first quarter. They have a very good team. But tonight Mike Dean and Steve Thomas showed up. Steve owned the boards with 19 rebounds and Mike was clutch in the final few minutes. I cant waut for the rematch Friday night. Jason, Josh and Boo had very good games as well.
Go Miners!!!
What was the crowd like, how many?

The Cavs sure are getting into a bad habit of starting slow every game. I've heard their assistant coach talk on the radio several times about how he doesn't like the way they start the game and often the 3rd quarter.
Somehow they'll have to find a way to come out of the locker room ready to play!

maybe M.R. Richardson should start cursing the refs and his players more in the locker room or in pre-game warmups to get them ready to play. That seems to be his main coaching technique. Once he started his sideline antics, the refs "warmed up" to his "and one calls" and begging/pleading for foul calls. While he camped out on the floor during time outs with more pleading of his case to the refs, coach Minor was doing an excellent job of player instruction keeping the players into the game and calling playsets and defensive sets to close the deficit

I believe if this was any other coach he would have been tossed lastnight. He was given a lot of room to plead his case and plead he did. I do agree that the assissant did an xcellent job of getting his team focused while Coach Richardson played the Refs.
Also a side note. I'm not a huge fan of Hard Hat Harry but last night he did bring some humor with his calling out of the calvary players on the bench with the Rocky Theme playing in the background. The boxing gloves and the push ups added to the fun
I also see we are missing some Diamond girls.Any word on them?

Not that this will mean a whole lot to most of you, but with Daniel Price (of Pikeville) playing for the Miners and Pierre Darden (of Cumberlands) playing for Oklahoma, there will be two former NAIA MidSouth Conference players playing on the Expo Center court.
I think this is very cool.
I'll be cheering for Oklahoma tonight. I hope they can split the series and help us out.
Looks like a good crowd tonight, although the webcast is not the best at the moment.

Really nice crowd tonight and we were loud! The game itself was great as both teams played hard and had good runs throughout.
Of Oklahoma's 102 points, 90 of them seemed to come via layups. The way these guys slash to the basket is impressive.

Great game tonight. I didnt hear the attendance announced but I guessed 2500 people. I made a comment several posts ago about how the fans react to the players when they wave and encourage the crowd. Well I feel that was the deciding factor in tonights game. I saw all five players waving their arms and the 6th man stepped up and help stop the Calvary from scoring. I also saw Jay Fieldler standing and cheering on his team. Great effort from the team the fans and the owners tonight.
Go Miners!!!

it was the loudest I've ever heard the Expo for a Miners game...even when we have had larger crowds the fans were never so vocal in rooting the team to victory. The autograph session afterwards was a great idea.....I'm hoarse from yelling so much... I knew my section would be on their feet or they wouldn't be seeing the game as I was standing tall in the front row...I hope we keep the noise level up on Sunday!
When your webcast was not buffering, it almost looked like the last large crowd you had, which was what, 3,500? Just about every seat was filled in on section that the camera was focused on.

Almost 2,200 tonight. But it might as well have been 4,000 with the great crowd. By far the most energetic and passionate crowd yet.

We are going to have a great playoffs, I think Yak/Minot/Pitt/Ek/OK are about 1 basket apart from each other right now. Maybe the home court will decide it.

it will be interesting to see how late season departures will affect the playoffs (i.e., Sasser in Yakima, Phillips in Minot). OK is a great team having just seen them in person, but Yakima is still the team to beat. I'm excited for sure about the playoffs!
