Who is coaching our beloved Daredevils? They put up a heck of an effort last nite.

Butte was coached by a young fellow last night - he did a good job - I'll get my hands on a media sheet from last night and post his name this afternoon hopefully. Minot played kind of crappy ---- Marshall Phillips didn't suit up as he is headed to a German league today. Minot will miss him. Ray Cunningham also didn't play last night, but I thought he was in uniform... seeking more info about that.... is he injured?? It was a pretty sloppy game overall and Butte eventually wore down as they were rotating only 7 most of the night. They should've won it.... Minot made their typical late homecourt surge to snatch another one that they may not have deserved. Oh well. Also, for some reason the Minot announcer mentioned all of the original remaining home dates for Minot including the last two w/ Great Falls (he didn't say "G.F.", just the dates). Minot's GM was sitting right next to him when he said it..... either they don't know that G.F. folded or they know something we don't know, like the league is going to try to fill the schedule somehow. It may have just been a slip as it occurred late in the game with a lot of fanfare going on and whatnot..... but somehow I wouldn't be surprised if the Minot staff hasn't even realized that those last two nights have gone "bye-bye". ------------------------------------ ------------------------------------------------------------ Butte started second half going 8 for 8 from the field.... look at shot chart to see how many paint buckets Minot had in second half however... crazy, they owned the paint and won the game because of it.

ATL is filling in for GF in Yak next week. Maybe they will be sacrficial lambs for Minot too. Those poor guys, I know from the fans reaction in Yakima people dont appreciate paying to see those guys get waxed.
Atlanta was announced as taking the place of Great Falls. According to the Skyrockets news release, the Krunk should have new ownership in place by the time they arrive in Minot.

Skyrockets Announce New Opponent
Minot, ND - February 27, 2008 - The Minot Skyrockets announced today that
the March 7th and 8th games will be played as scheduled, but with a
different opponent. Since the Great Falls Explorers have suspended
basketball operations, the Atlanta Krunk will travel to Minot to finish out
the regular season schedule.
The Atlanta Krunk are currently undergoing an ownership change that should
be completed by the time they travel to Minot. With the new changes, fans in
Minot can expect a competitive and exciting game against the Krunk to finish
out the regular season and head into the play-offs.
“It is unfortunate that the fans won’t have the chance to see the Great
Falls team, but we are grateful the league was able to find a resolution
without canceling any of our home games. We will continue on with a
different, but still very competitive opponent, and it will be an exciting
finish to the season. We are also eagerly anticipating the start of the
postseason,” said General Manager Kim Mueller. The play-off schedule and
dates should be announced by the CBA within the week.

Minot will be playing Atlanta with "new ownership" to make up the Great Falls games.
Ray Cunningham has a hip pointer, and coach wanted to keep him out with the tough three game road trip to Albany coming up.

..maybe the league will add the remaining Explorers to the Krunk for the final road trip. That would make a certain amount of sense, given the players are in Montana anyway and it would be nice to have something like a real game in Yakama and Minot.
Tuckman was an idiot as a business manager, but he did put a competitive CBA team on the court once he cleaned house.

That isnt a bad idea except if the GF/ATL were to knock a team out of the playoffs. That wouldnt be fair, as everyone else pre merger got to get 7-0 wins on or off the court. They do play PITT a few times though HMMM. I smell conspiracy. The league and this board have always had it out for the X.
Stop me someone I need help, please.
Now why would the league(or anyone) have it out for the X? I don't see anyone knocking us out of playoff contention, kings.

CBA online is seldom updated for "news" content it seems... Seems the main interest would be hyping the playoffs.... BUT we haven't even had formal announcements of how many teams, format of games, etc... shoddy management and public relations will lead to the CBA demise again unless someone places an emphasis on building interest!
I love this league and I will follow the Xplosion wherever they decide to play. But I have to admit that the CBA is a lot less now than they were at the beginning of the season. Keeping everyone in the dark about the playoffs is so much like the ABA and untypical of this league. Letting the Explorers get out of hand an the Krunk play only road games. The Xplosion have no scheduled road games now until Butte next week. This whole thing is getting crazy with the league. The more I hear now, the more I'm thinking that a merger(with PBL) with the planned Divisions is looking better.
