I know this may be a stupid post...but there has been no word from the NIFL about any kind of 2008 season. Does anyone have any information about any 2008 season?

The league only has one known team, Ft. Lauderdale Tasers, and no word of any signings or venues.
If they do try to run in 2008, it'll make the ABA look competent by comparison.

It's not a stupid question at all. We go through this every year with this league.

If they find a couple suckers willing to invest in a team, they'll pretend to play this year.

This is way late to make an announcement if they were going to play, even for them, so I very much doubt it. You never know though.

Way too late for any reasonably responsible league... but this is the NIFL we're talking about.
After the dog and pony show last year, I cannot think them uncapable of any new low....

Barring any new information, the NIFL section will be removed from OSC next month. We've seen no signs of life from the league at all. This board will remain for the foreseeable future.

Is it strange to feel joy over this? :-D
Good riddance!

I'm still hung over from the WIFL going away party. That was a wild one for a four team "league" that only lasted six months.

How can the NIFL fold? Wasn't each team touted as worth MILLIONS of dollars last year?

Good bye forever NIFL. I enjoyed you until I knew better. Glad you won't be around to further damage indoor football......

Never fear, the NIFL is completely done. If I ever see anyone of those crooks here in California, I will personally hang them out to dry! That is the God's honest truth!

Well...I guess the NIFL is gone. Not that I'll shed any tears. LOL!

I won't miss it.

From 2001-2005 the NIFL was the best that indoor football had to offer. It deserves credit for that and for lasting six years.
The PIFL, IPFL, IFL, AIFL and WIFL could not survive as long as the NIFL. And the jury is still out on the AIFA, UIF, CIFL, Intense, APFL and IIFA leagues. Lets see how these leagues look after six years.

Yes, the NIFL was good at first, but so was socialism.....
I don't know if I'd say the NIFL "survived" for six years.. Maybe four, then just "lingered" these last two.
Is there a worse word than linger to descibe the act of refusing to go the @#$% away? If so, that's what I mean.

Comparing the NIFL to socialism.....hmmm
A worse word may be an abortion, which is basicly what the WIFL did. Killing the league while it's still in the womb.
The NIFL had a birth, a prime, an old age, and a death. Most leagues should be so lucky.

During that "old age" somebody should have had the decency to put the poor thing out of its misery.

And just what do you call the random piles of poo that the NIFL left in it's path?
Look man, bang on the WIFL all you want. The thing is dead, and I came to grips with that a long time ago. If you need some type of diversion to draw attention away from exactly how much the NIFL sucked and wounded indoor football that's fine also. But try as you might, you just can't polish that turd.

The NIFL's pro football legacy: 2001-2007. The premier professional indoor football league in the world from 2001-2005.

I am going to have to agree with BananaCat on this one.
In 2005 the NIFL was not the best league in indoor football.

We're 6 days into March. So, when is the hammer going to fall on this?

I fully expect that the NIFL will be removed from OurSports Central's main site sometime this month. The message board will remain for the time being.

If you were to put a price tag on the league what is its worth? Not knowing what kind of assets the league owns makes this hard so what would you pay for the name?

I would buy the NAME ONLY and set it aside for future use. It's a good name.
