Here are some of the pictures that I took at the Motown Jammers inaugural game on 11/20/04. Sorry about the quality, It wasn't my camera.

Here is the real final score. Not as was posted on the league site.

Here is the bench side seating about halfway through the 2nd quarter.

And the entrance side seats halfway through the 3rd quarter. I wish they would release their count, just to see if they would lie about it. The only entrance/exit is the 2 doors between the sections of bleachers.

Hear's another. Do these look like the "loud" crowd the Jammers talked about in their press release?

Here's the floor crew. A fat guy, a towel, and his leg. The professionalism abounds with the Jammers!

The only thing of interest in this one is the player on the far right. This Kobe wannabe clone was warming up at the end that I passed through to get to the bench side seats during halftime. The ball bounced off of someones foot and rolled right in front of me. I picked it up and tossed it back to him. Did he say thanks? Did he smile or nod in appreciation? Did he even acknowledge that I did it? NO! The A-hole just turned his back and walked away. I guess there are NBA sized ego's, even in the ABA. Oh ya, he rode the bench most of the game and pretty much stunk it up when he did play. Like I said, what an A-hole! :x

A Kentucky free throw. In this one, you can see the concession stand up in the balcony above the seats on the right. Yes, you have to go upstairs to get food, t-shirts, or use the bathroom, or in reality, you had to come downstairs to get in the "arena". the upstairs part is the first floor when you enter the field house. The people in the balcony were not paying customers. You could get there without a ticket.

The interesting thing in this one is that the guy on the top row of seats in the middle appeared to be either a scout or a reporter. No news coverage of the game, so I assume he was a scout. I wonder what he thought of the quality of play?

You can see how the big blue curtains dominate the "arena" here. I think the Jammers missed what looks like an easy 2 here.

A Jammer free throw, and a bunch of empty seats. I took the pics on the bench side from about where the 2 guys are in the top row. I don't think they stayed for the second half.

Another Jammers turnover. This was near the end of the game, when it was clear they were going to lose. #9 doesn't look happy.......

....Maybe if he paid attention to the game instead of standing & staring aimlessly into the crowd during the game!

This one gives a pretty good look at the Jammers uniforms. A pretty uninspiring black & white.

Well done! Those are some great shots and give some idea where the ABA is at. I may see things through rose colored glasses, but there seems to be a lot of room to grow.

If the ABA has a business plan that can survive with those kinds of crowds, maybe we can get a team here in Singapore.

If anyone has any photo's of a Rotweiler's game, please let us in on it.

What is the total seating capacity of the Jammer's home venue? If there were about 200 fans at the game, it looks like the Jammers' gym seats a maximum of about 1000. They might not generate enough revenue to survive the season even if they wr getting near-sellouts. This doesn't look well-conceived.

You are correct. I would estimate capacity to be about 1k as well. I haven't been able to find any official number as of yet. You might squeeze in a few more if you ignore the black magic marker lines that are drawn on the bleachers to indicate "seats". I'm guessing that will not be a problem for the Jammers. If less than 200 show for the inaugural game and there still hasn't been any marketing whatsoever, how many will show for the rest? Far less than 200, I'm guessing. I may go again mid-season (assuming they make it that far) to see what attendance is like. If I were a betting person, I'd put money on them not surviving more than 2 road trips, especially ones that they will have to put the team up in a hotel. Skimming through the schedule, I don't see them making a roadie to Mexico, but they do make one to Texas. Not going to Mexico makes sense in terms of logistics, but they ARE in the same division. You would think every team would play every team in its own division.
