I just wanted to extend my congratulations to the Toronto Argos, the 2004 Grey Cup champs. I watched the game and I have to say it was a real boring game. At times, I was tempted to change the channel. A few nagging questions, why did Wally Buono leave Dave Dickinson in the entire game? I would have pulled him in the second half for Casey Printers.
What was with the BC Lions intro being done entirely in French? I guess you don't lose too much when you don't speak English but still.
Was it just me or was there a field in Ottawa, or was it simply a giant billboard? I realize the CFL has to pay the bills somehow, but even for a CFL game, there were too many ads on the field.
The halftime show had the Tragically Hip, which I don't mind, but the CBC technicans who did the game should have worked on getting the audio to sound good. It was way too washed out, I doubt you'd find the NFL blowing their halftime extravaganza at the Super Bowl.
Finally, I realize the game was on CBC, but I personally would have rather seen the TSN crew do the game. Aside from Chris Walby, the rest of announcers/analysts seemed to make unintelligent observations. The worst came during the post-game interviews. Who asks a player from a losing team whether playing in the Grey Cup was a dream come true? I think Jason Clermont had some choice words he wished to say to him, but caught his tongue at the last minute.
