It was confusing for a lot of young people on why would we have a canary but for the older folk it was sorta neat that they would bring out an important part of coal mining history to represent the EK Miners for this first season.

He's a pretty good mascot too. I believe the man inside the suit does the Tampa Bay Bucs games too.

I've always known what Canaries meant to coal mines, even when I was young, but that may be because I am the son of a miner.

Well I know one thing , your father was a hard working man. Around here you respect your elders , your parents, and all the miners that work to keep our power on.
