the Coach from the mudcats looks like a complete Idiot releasing that press release. Doesn't he know that the 2 players,,,,,1) Ahmaad Smith was only under contract for last season. Left there to go on and play Arena 2 ball, Then signed a contract with the Arena 2 league only to be drafted by the AAFL. trying to give his team some kudo's????????? He has had nothing to do with the Mudcats for at least8 months. Also I hear the mudcats have been calling around, looking for a kicker. When they did reach the guy they were looking for they told him they were looking to upgrade for the upcomming year BUT that they were not going to give the kicker HOUSING like the other teams do. Way to not GO when looking for the best kicker out there. Garrett is off limit's Coach. Playing Arena 2 Ball with real talent. U had a great team last year but this year may have different out come's. But GOOD LUCK I hear there is a kicker that played last year in Alaska looking for a job. His name is Carlos. Not providing housing may be up his ally. Hell, Daytona Beach had him sleeping in his car for some part of the season, he still available

Okay, so now we're getting up in arms about not providing a kicker housing? With entire teams struggling to survive, seems a strange battle to fight. If nothing else, it may give a local guy a better chance. Far from the end of the world.

So someone is geting upset over a kicker not getting housing? That is great!! We all know that the kicker is really not a part of the team. Kickers are not ball players. LOL !! As for Ahmaad Smith he did play the whole season for the Mudcats because I was at the Conference Championship game against Lakeland. He was a great player for the Mudcats. I do know that he was injured for most of the season and came back late and did a pretty good job. So as for the Mudcat coach trying to bolster anything, he did lose two guys to the AFL mid season (Joe Clark, Georgia Force) (Gary Jenkins, New Orleans Voodoo) last year that probably cost him a championship. He had another guy in (Fred Reid Winnipeg) play for the Grey Cup in the CFL and he had another guy (Derrick White) sign with the Arizona Rattlers of the AFL in the Offseason. No need to bolster resume because that is his job. Keep it p coach because we like what we see and look forward to more. Oh and one more thing the Coach did find a kicker local kid that owns every kicking record at Delta St. So I think that they are probably good at kicker buddy.

Yeah, tell that to Darren Brown of the Katy Ruff Riders, who made several key tackles last season on kickoff returns. The guy has also been known to fill in for QB or WR when needed. All this and the guy only has one arm.

Yeah I know that kickers are important especially in the AIFA. I know in the Conference championship that the Lakeland kicker made every uno and kicked 3 or 4 field goals in that game alone. He was a big part of them winning that ball game. He also did well in the championship. I was just giving the guy a hard time because he was butt hurt that the Mudcats would'nt sign his guy.

NOT my guy? He found a local kid cause the other one refused to play there with out having housing provided. Lack of funds there also. And the other kicker was just up in a Arena city kicking against Eddinger to see who was going to camp? Dont think the other guy has to worry about the mudcats situation, Hell I hope the AIFA keeps on growing and doing well. Keeps players in jobs. Oh yea, the other kicker has 2 a2 offfers on the table. The only reason he took the call was that it might be a good place to play in case Arena team needs emergency kicker durring the year sense they cant grab A2 kicker.

Oh yea, Joe Clark left and went to the Force at the end of the season and it was the practice squad. And Yes Joe is a great player. Hope he makes the A1 roster, cause I know of a few A2 teams that are courting him, not going to the Cats at last word. Neither is Ahmaad.

But Joe Clark did play in the Conf. Championship. Then he went back to the Force. I heard that he had a few A1 teams looking at him but he didn't end up in camp with any of them so I wish him the best of luck in whatever he ends up doing. He was a good player and a fan favorite (def one of mine) for the mudcats last year. It's always good to see guys from the team you root for move up to the next level and I thought that the coaches did a good job of selling their guys to teams in A1 and the CFL. Not very many teams would shop their guys in the middle of a championship run like they did. Kuddos. As for your kicker friend good for him I hope things work out for him. I just know that it isn't good business to bring a guy in and house him if you can find a guy that is just as good that you don't have to house. Maybe that was what the coach meant when he told him he wouldn't have housing for him. I know that the mudcats housed alot of players last year at an apartment complex in town. I would think that they would be doing the same this year.

Dude, do you have a clue? There isn't a team around that houses local players during the season. Your guy, buddy, whatever, may or may not get signed somewhere else, from what I here he is a pretty decent kicker, and if he does make a roster he will get housing (you would hope anyway) because he is not local. This is not a Mississippi thing or an AIFA thing, it's a minor league football thing including your buddies in AF2. The reason for this is it is fairly hard to find housing and you don't want local guys taking beds from out of town guys when they have one already. Every team in every league does this, I repeat EVERY TEAM, so for you to come on here and bash a coach because of what you think you know, is not going to fly. And come on, I got to agree with B-man on this, do you seriously think that coaching staff is losing any sleep over this kid not signing with them. He is a KICKER for cripes sake, Heck I heard they went through the majority of their season last year with their backup QB booting the ball. If the guy can kick a 15 yard FG then sign him up, because that's all that matters. And what's this lack of funds crap too? I've heard nothing but the complete opposite from everyone associated with this league that this team is by far one of the most successful both on and off the field, I think the only thing they are lacking is aspirin from having to deal with I think I can I think I can haters like you! As far as I'm concerned there's only one guy on hear looking like an idiot and he ain't in Mississippi. puff, puff, pass bro puff, puff pass! Kickers, you gotta be kidding me! LMAO
